Last night was a good night to be an incumbent.

All of the incumbents won in Roseville, Rocklin and Lincoln. It also looks like the school board races are going the same way.

Republicans Pauline Rocucci and Paul Joiner were number one vote getters in their respective cities.

Ben Mavy in PCWA D5 has suprised observers and is within 40 votes of entrenched liberal Democrat Otis Wollan.

Aaron Klein won re-election handily and Elaine Rowen, due largely to her name ID and ballot designation won the open Sierra College seat.

Bruce Kranz was blown out in the D5 Sup race as Obama organizers were effective in getting out the tahoe vote for Montgomery and Brown.

The moribund McCain campaign is getting about the same support level that Bill Jones got in 2004 for his ill-fated Senate campaign. McClintock trailed McCain by 3.5 points in his final tally in Placer County.

The State Assembly and State Senate races were no contest at all.

What will the future direction of the Placer County Republican Central Committee Be? What will Kirk Uhler's role be now that he is the lone Conservative on the Board of Supervisors?

What will the outcome of the final count be in the 4th CD - time will tell.

Is Placer a purple county, or is it the victim of a vacuum?

BTW - Lee Reed, check your email to receive your payoff on the bet I lost.
