U.S. Chamber Endorses McClintock for Congress
A Champion for the People of Northern California

WASHINGTON, D.C.--The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today announced its endorsement of California State Senator Tom McClintock for Congress in California's 4th Congressional District, praising his strong support for California businesses, both large and small.

"Tom McClintock will be a champion for the people of northern California and an invaluable leader on important business issues," said Bill Miller, the U.S. Chamber's senior vice president and political director. "If elected, we believe McClintock will continue to support businesses of all sizes.

"A strong proponent of fiscal responsibility, Senator McClintock help spur business growth and job creation in the region by advocating for tax reform and energy exploration.

"On issues ranging from lowering taxes to reducing energy costs, California's businesses and workers have no better friend than Tom McClintock," said Miller.

The U.S. Chamber plans to play a big role in the upcoming national elections, endorsing candidates who have demonstrated support for business priorities and will work to advance a pro-growth agenda in Congress.  In 2006, 222 of the 277 Chamber endorsed candidates were elected.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world's largest business federation, representing more than three million businesses and organizations of every size, sector, and region.

The news would have been for the Chamber of Commerce to endorse ANYONE except a Republican.

Great news! It's great to see the Chamber recognize Tom for all his achievements with helping businesses across the state.

There seems to be a whole lot of James and Jimmy and variants thereof that support McClintock.

There's:

James Chandler
Jimbo Slice
Jimmy Two Times
and plain Jimmy

Have I left any out?

I used to live in Chicago during ol' Mayor Daley's time. "Jimmy" was a pretty popular name with his mach...ummmm...organization too.

I want him to use Jimmy Jam next, because he has been DJ'ing all over that ass.

Bob - please requisition some Government Cheese to go with that wine.

Here you go Aaron! But I'm glad to hear you like Goodfella's Lee, it's one of my all time favs too!

To comment on the endorsement, Tom is someone who will go back to D.C. and will support the big businesses as well as the small businesses. He WILL do an excellent job here in the 4th by spurring business and the economy as he did in SoCal. His record is proven, and Charlie Brown simply doesn't have the business experience. We need a Congressman who has knowledge in good business principles. Charlie Brown has a weak energy plan, does not want to drill, and doesn't want to finish the Auburn Dam. This would hurt the people of the 4th district, and the Chamber of Commerce obviously agrees.

Tom McClintock will undoubtedly be a great leader for the people here in Northern California and an invaluable leader on important business issues.

Organizations Supporting Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

The above is the headline on the FAIR website
http://www.fairus.org/site/PageServer?pagename=iic_immigrationissuecentersa5ad

FYI, FAIR stands for Federation for American Immigration Reform

This is the statement of FAIR’s purpose:

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is a national, nonprofit, public-interest, membership organization of concerned citizens who share a common belief that our nation's immigration policies must be reformed to serve the national interest.
FAIR seeks to improve border security, to stop illegal immigration, and to promote immigration levels consistent with the national interest—more traditional rates of about 300,000 a year.

With more than 250,000 members and supporters nationwide, FAIR is a non-partisan group whose membership runs the gamut from liberal to conservative. Our grassroots networks help concerned citizens use their voices to speak up for effective, sensible immigration policies that work for America’s best interests.

FAIR’s publications and research are used by academics and government officials in preparing new legislation.National and international media regularly turn to us to understand the latest immigration developments and to shed light on this complex subject.FAIR has been called to testify on immigration bills before Congress more than any organization in America.

Guess who is FAIR’s arch-baddie…
U.S. Chamber of Commerce (business)
"We need a system of 'earned targeted adjustment' for undocumented workers that fill vital roles in our economy, which would enable them to achieve legal status. We also need to expand permanent and temporary visas for workers to enter the United States legally to meet future workforce requirements." Randel Johnson, Chamber vice president for labor, immigration and employee benefits. Jan 7, 2004

“Earned targeted adjustment” is an euphemism for AMNESTY.

This is what FAIR said about the Chamber of Commerce about a month ago when FAIR was doing a victory lap.

“EDITOR’S NOTE: Just so all you news media types that keep stacking the deck daily for the “open-borders” enthusiast’s within the state, the Chamber of Commerces, liberal educators, so-call faith based organizations, sanctuary cities, unions, contractors and Nebraska meat packers (hope we haven’t left anyone out) think that the majority of the citizens are going to just sit back and let you run this state into the ground, you have another think coming! Similiar legislation will be passed in this state, so all you illegals aliens might just start packing!”
http://nebraskaobserver.wordpress.com/tag/fair-federation-for-american-immigration-reform/

Just in case you missed it, The Chamber of Commerce is FAIR’s target as public enemy #1.

So McClintock is running as Tom Tancredo in CA-04. And FAIR fingers McClintock’s blue ribbon endorser, The Chamber of Commerce as in bed with LIBERAL EDUCATORS and SANCTUARY CITIES.

This thing has my head spinning. What the ___ is going on?

Someone is trying to bamboozle us CA-04 folks!

Lee,

I think both the CoC and FAIR know that McClintock will be ineffective if he gets elected though he probably will make a lot of noise while he's off tilting at windmills. So they are willing to endorse him despite the conflict with their core interests simply because he is in the red column.

FAIR may say they are bi-partisan but in practice...hardly. And as I posted before, it would be NYT front page above-the-fold news if the CoC ever endorsed a Democrat.

For your information Bob, the COC IS very much bipartisan. Curently, they are driving across the U.S. endorsing both Democrats and Republicans.
Here's a link that might interest you http://www.digitalrailroad.net/USChamber/Default.aspx

One bus will go to St. Paul for the Republican Convention, and the other to Denver for the Dem Convention. Don't be sour just because the COC endorsed McClintock instead of Brown. It has nothing to do with party, and everything to do with the candidate. McClintock is better experienced, he has a better vision, and he will help businesses by keeping taxes low and the government out of their pockets. Charlie Brown has no experience and will raise taxes.
Don't make this a party issue, sir.
