OBM Machine Update: Joanne Neft Edition ("Republican" supporter of OBM Machine)

(OBM Machine - Obambi / Brown / Montgomery)
Earlier, I blogged about Taumas Colliver - he of the Placer County is Ruled by White, Male Republicans and the crazy anon blogger talking about Occupied Placer County. Well, the all-star team just added another to their roster.
Who is Joanne Neft?
Joanne Neft purports to be a lifelong Republican. She is purported to be a close associate of Liberal Republican Supervisor Robert Weygant.
Joanne Neft has never given a dime to the Placer County Republican Party in the entire time I have been involved with it.
Neft wrote Liberal Democrat Jennifer Montgomery a $1500 check, as reported on Montgomery's 6/30 form 460.
Neft wrote Charlie Brown a check for $1,627 in 2006.
Now Republican Joanne Neft is up to her old tricks. After supporting and lending her name to the attempted recall of two Republican members of Sierra College's Board of Trustees - she is a "leader" in the Save Sierra College effort to elect Liberal Democrat activists to that board.
In 2002, Neft was part of the Placer County Republican Congress slate of Liberal Republicans that formed to attempt the takeover of the Central Committee. They were also active in supporting John Doolittle's primary opponent, Bill Kirby. This was pre-Abramoff - Doolittle won with 78% of the vote.
Neft is involved with the Sierra Club and like organizations.
In 2002, Neft authored the John Doolittle coloring book - that may have been a violation of Campaign Finance Laws, but nevertheless was replete with attacks against John for supporting Hunters, Gun Rights, Development and Tax Cuts.
In 2006, Neft was part of Now-Democrat former Congressman Pete McCloskey's effort to weaken John Doolittle in the primary called "Revolt of the Elders". Again, their mailer was replete with Environmentalist attacks.
Neft has never endorsed or supported Bruce Kranz, she supported Liberal Democrat Rex Bloomfield.
Neft has never endorsed or supported Ted Gaines in the time I have been active.
Neft has never endorsed or supported John Doolittle - and I won't hold my breath waiting for her to support McClintock either.
Now - Save Sierra College is bragging about Bi-partisan support of "Community Activists"...
Neft has a right to her opinions. As a Republican activist, I have a right to call her a fraud. She certainly fits the mold of the OBM Machine.

It's a minor point, but Joanne Neft is on record as having given $50 to the county party in Feb of '06. For the curious observer, that was the price of admission to the Lincoln Day Dinner. Her group(Holmes) was at war with Doolittle, and they were battling the valid accusation that they weren't REAL Republicans. We ought to make the accusations more often if the net effect is taking more of their money!!!
I don't remember seeing Neft at the 2006 Lincoln Day Dinner. If she was, then she is $50 over the nothing line.
That being said, when Congressman Doolittle was introduced, the Placer County Republican Congress table sat while the rest of the audience stood to applaud Doolittle.
Nice.
I have to say, this is a disappointing blog. I was hoping to be reading about the issues, seeing differences between the two parties, where we can come together and who the best candidate will be. You've said nothing but nasty things about people who aren't running for office, and to me that's voter intimidation. When I first joined, it was a kid running for the DCC. Then it was someone who wrote a distasteful letter to the editor. Now its some lady Republican supporter of Democrats.
I for one am the kind of person who wants more from the people I engage with. Sorry, Aaron, but after a couple months I'm tired of waiting for gentlemanly behavior. When I ran into Charlie Brown the other day we had a civil conversation and we came to agree on a few things. I even found out a little about his faith and where he goes to church and invited him to stop by mine as well. He directed me to his website, where I read his energy plan (and guess what? Charlie Brown is for drilling). Then I read his support for 2nd Amendment rights. That's the kind of politics I like-- someone who's not afraid to go against the party... This blog your just wrote about Mrs. Neff and ones like them are just personal, petty and vindictive. I really was hoping for better from you, Aaron.
3:8 - A few things to note.
1) I am a Conservative activist - I clearly express my opinions and who I am supporting. I make no apologies for doing so.
2) Others attack me / debate me because of my hard-hitting and aggressive style - perfect, I engage them.
3) Letters to the editor are fair game - blog entries of candidates for office are fair game, in fact you, if you are truly a centrist should appreciate the fact that I dig these things up and re-post them as they are written by people who disagree with me - thereby giving you the counter-weight you are looking for.
4) JoAnne Neft is frequently cited as a "Republican Leader" by people seeking to do in Republicans running for re-election. As a Conservative activist - it is MY JOB to expose fraud within the Republican Party. I make no apology for that at all.
5) Brown's energy plan is a no-drill carbon copy of Pelosi's. Read some more over the next week and the fraud that comprises Democrat Energy plans will be exposed. Dem-aligned groups oppose and sue to stop Wind and Solar plants as well. Brown's plan cites 68 million existing acres of leases that are on already explored land that has either been drilled or has been deemed useless.
6) Brown's release on the 2nd ammendment was 4 days after the court wording and involved carefully scripted wording to avoid offending those on the far left that oppose the 2nd ammendment. We call that walking the wire - not taking a stand.
7) Just because Charlie goes to Church does not make him right. At least, I never get that deference from anyone on this blog at all.
3:8 please refrain from commenting as if you know me - I do not know you as you are commenting anonymously. It is impossible for me to try and meet expectations from someone I don't know and have never met.
Regards, Aaron F. Park
Aaron, you say:
"3:8 - A few things to note.
1) I am a Conservative activist"
Well, not so fast Aaron. You are glib, but you are neither "Conservative" or an "activist"
A perusal of American Conservatism shows what is the essential defining aspect of conservatism. That aspect is CIVIC VIRTUE.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_conservatism
“The Founding Fathers created the single most important set of political ideas in American history, known as republicanism, which all groups, liberal and conservative alike, have drawn from. The Federalist Party, followers of Alexander Hamilton, developed an important variation of republicanism that can be considered conservative. Rejecting monarchy and aristocracy, they emphasized CIVIC VIRTUE as the core American value. The Federalists spoke for the propertied interests and the upper classes of the cities. They envisioned a modernizing land of banks and factories, with a strong army and navy.
And what is civic virtue?:
Important aspects of civic virtue include polite conversation, civilized behavior, industry and a bona fides approach to one's participation in society. Polite, or civil conversation includes concepts of listening to what others have to say, attempting at all times to reach agreement with fellow citizens, and remaining informed on issues of import in order to offer relevant contributions to conversation. Civilized behavior, presenting one's self decently in attire, language and temperament, is intended to avoid offending others, and causing disorder. Industry is the application of one's efforts to useful endeavours which contribute to the public good, or at least do no harm. Civilized people were expected to demonstrate a bona fides, or good faith spirit regarding public life.
These aspects of Conservatism have held from the Founding Fathers through modern proponents of Conservatism including Bob Taft, Bill Buckley, Barry Goldwater, George Will, and Russell Kirk.
Aaron, you a not an activist. An activist is a builder. You are a vandal. You are as much a vandal as someone who destroys personal and public property. You are an attack dog. Your niche in politics is to trade in the politics of personal destruction. You are as subtle as someone with a crowbar in hand walking down the street banging on vehicles.
A certain group of political operatives hijacked the term Conservatism.
Lee Atwater, Charlie Black, Ralph Reed, and Karl Rove practiced a perverted kind of politics to advance what they duplicity called Conservatism. They spawned a whole bunch of wannabes who saw their kind of politics as a fast track to political power and fortune.
No, you be no Conservative activist. You do not have the discipline to learn the central tenants of Conservatism including civic virtue and the how, the why, and the wherefore of its centrality to Conservatism…

Thanks for the psychoanalysis. The only ones that get the crowbar are the OBM machine.
Trying to debate with you is like playing the whack-a-mole game or reading a poetry anthology.
