AJ Rampage Update - Why hasn't there been coverage of Montgomery's Donors?

Posted by: Aaron Park | 07/20/2008 11:30 AM

Blogger's Notes - Today - a week later than other media outlets, the AJ published Bruce Kranz' response to the barrage of letters against him over the 4 lane highway in King's Beach. The AJ of course made sure Montgomery got equal space even though they spiked letters in support of Bruce.

Thanks Jeff for catching this in your News Roundup.

I also caught a blog post from Rothe about how he opposes Three Strikes - are you kidding me? What is it with the AJ editor and being soft on crime?

The thesis of the above title is because the Auburn Journal has gone out of their way to make Bruce Kranz look like a vassal of the developers. They frequently print who is giving money to Bruce - one can only assume that since they decided not to post anything about Jennifer's donors that they must have a double-standard.

This was cross-posted on the Placer CRA Blog and the beginning is highlighted here for your dose of Sunday news that you will only read on Blogs.

A quick browse of Montgomery's campaign finances shows a ton of donors from the Bay Area. We also see several known Placer Democrats doing their part will small donations - the way it is supposed to work, right?

Rob Haswell - former candidate for the 4th AD is running the campaign and the Placer Dems have decided that Bruce Kranz is their best shot for a take-down.

On Page 12 of the report the first "Donor of Interest" appears - Paul McCloskey, Jr. - When he was in Congress, people called him Pete McCloskey...

And so it goes - the 5th Sup district could easily eclipse the 4th CD for fireworks.

Allow me to again state the obvious - regardless of how you feel about Bruce Kranz... the 5th Sup Race is a classic Conservative vs Ultra-Liberal race. If you want to see the Sierra Club take a majority on the board, then do nothing. Otherwise - Bruce Kranz is your man.

How do we see the donor files for these candidates? I honestly didn't know in all my years as a voter that we could see these lists on the city and county levels. I guess ya learn somethin every day!

I am no expert but in Placer you can go to

http://www.placerelections.com/

Its menu driven from there. Its not very automated so you will be looking through scanned documents. The 460 forms seems to be interesting. I like to read what the candidates spend there money on as much as who the donors are.

Aaron, what is your stake in the 5th SD hiring process? I think a full disclosure of a regular poster would be warranted. Full disclosure includes possible financial gain, possible political clout gain, etc.

Inquiring minds want to know,,,

Lee- I know this has you and your fellow Placer Dems scratching your collective heads - I have no personal or financial stake in Kranz winning. I have no personal or financial stake in McC winning - I am not paid by either campaign... I will be McClintock's appointee to the Placer GOP Committee, that's about it.

I have said it before and I will say it again - I don't care if I ever run for office. Now, do you think that makes me less dangerous or more dangerous?

3:8 / CA04 - (long time no talk to 04) I had a hard copy of Montgomery's 5/17 form 460. I should be getting the 6/30 460 from her campaign shortly. Neither were on the website - had to send someone physically to the Placer Registrar's office to get it.

And regarding this:

"Allow me to again state the obvious - regardless of how you feel about Bruce Kranz... the 5th Sup Race is a classic Conservative vs Ultra-Liberal race."

The iconic and martyred first Republican President didn't have much use of ideologues and their stultifying dogmas when our great nation is in troubled times...

"The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country." Lincoln's Second Annual Message to Congress, December 1, 1862.

Lincoln speaks for me...

A Democrat assassinated Lincoln.

You'd better believe that Montgomery's quiet past merits consideration especially since her and her army are out to tar and feather Kranz.

You will also find that the Sierra Club Types and the Auburn Journal ignored bad planning decisions and bad behavior when they were made by Rex Bloomfield - their spiritual leader. More on that, soon...

"As our case is new, so we must think anew, and act anew. We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country." - Re-Elect Bruce Kranz and stop the wildfires in Placer County.
