Firefighters contain grass fires near Newcastle, in Yuba County - Sac Bee and Auburn Journal
The Newcastle fire began Sunday around 2:30 p.m. and burned five acres before crews had it contained an hour later.

Less than one year after the Washoe Fire destroyed five homes and 20 acres of land some 2 miles south of Tahoe City, a group of officials gathered in the neighborhood of the blaze to announce a new defensible space ordinance.
