Former Mayor Pauline Roccucci Announces Candidacy For Roseville City Council

Former Roseville Mayor Pauline Roccucci today announced her candidacy for the City Council.

"Roseville is facing significant challenges that will affect our quality of life for years to come," said Roccucci.  "I am running for City Council because it's time for independent leadership and fresh energy to move our city forward."

Roccucci will be holding a campaign kickoff event at the Historic Haman House in Roseville on Thursday, June 26 from 5:00 to 7:30 PM.  The cost of the event is $95 per person.

"My family has served the people of Roseville for over thirty-five years.  I've been actively involved in our City as a Mayor, City Councilwoman and Planning Commissioner," stated Roccucci.

"On the Council, I worked to expand our city's innovative Specific Planning Process to provide balanced growth.  I brought Nordstrom's to the Galleria Mall and authored tough anti-graffiti and anti-smoking city ordinances."

"This successful record of leadership has earned the endorsement of public safety and community leaders such as Placer County Sheriff Ed Bonner and former Roseville Mayor June Wanish," continued Roccucci.

"As a City Councilwoman, I will work to preserve Roseville's quality of life while supporting an environment of greater prosperity for all of us who live here.  My priorities for our County include:

• Improving city planning standards to promote common sense conservation and better protect our neighborhoods from inappropriate development;
• Supporting the highest level of Law Enforcement and Fire Protection services for local residents;
• Restoring sound fiscal management by opposing higher taxes and excessive city spending;
• Making city government more accountable by holding regular community meetings and office hours.

 
"Building a better future for Roseville means listening more closely to the concerns of our citizens and working collaboratively to address regional issues such as transportation and water," said Roccucci.

"Unfortunately, the concerns of local residents are too often being ignored at City Hall!  We need Councilmembers who will ask the tough questions and ensure that the people's voice is heard."

A life long resident of Roseville, Pauline Roccucci is a graduate of Roseville High School and Sacramento State University.  She is a Registered Nurse since 1968.  In addition to her past service on the Roseville City Council, Pauline served 8 years as Roseville's representative on the Placer County Water Agency Board.  Pauline has been married for 39 years to current Roseville City Councilman Richard Roccucci. They have four children and four grandchildren.
