While several county committees have made their voices heard - not to be outdone is Placer.
Ose Tries to Hide From His Position Supporting Gay Marriage
Record Shows He Voted Against Marriage Protection Act
Doug Ose was quick to issue a news release today "blasting" the California Supreme Court for its gay marriage decision. But Ose conveniently ignored his own record. He voted against the Marriage Protection Act! (HR 3313, Roll Call #410, July 2004.)
The Act defines marriage "for all purposes of federal law" as the union of one man and one woman. It protects states from being forced to recognize as a marriage any "union" other than that of one man and one woman. Doug Ose voted AGAINST that marriage protection. In his statement today Ose said "this (gay marriage) is an issue that should be left to the states."
"Ose got what he wanted today, which is a ruling by an activist court that gives gays the right to marry. His vote against the Marriage Protection Act helped pave the way for the celebrations we see today in the streets of San Francisco.Conservatives have known that protection of marriage was only one judge away from being compromised, and today is proof of that, thanks to Doug Ose," said George Park Jr., 1st Vice Chairman of the Placer County Republican Party.

All seven members of the California court have been confirmed by the voters. Kennard -- confirmed 2006 with 74.5% Corrigan -- confirmed 2006 with 74.4% Werdegar -- confirmed 2002 with 74.1% Moreno -- confirmed 2002 with 72.6% Baxter -- confirmed 2002 with 71.5% George -- confirmed 1998 with 75.5% Chin -- confirmed 1998 with 69.3%
Oh, happy gay! An issue to rally the troops and allow everyone to forget all the troubles with the war and the economy! Oh, happy gay!
Erin,
The Placer GOP is always outdone. Proof is your lame Lincoln day dinner.
How come no one is talking about the NRCC poll that shows Tom losing to Brown in a head to head match up? Word on the street in DC is Tom is down double digits. I wonder why Charlie isn't hitting him and instead attacking doug? Hmmmm....
Is this the same NRCC that just lost THREE special elections in a row?
And you wonder why no one is discussing their polls.
After Tom wins the primary by double digits in this district that has a seventeen point Republican advantage, all talk of Charlie will soon fade... As I said, he should start planning some real quality time with the grandchildren.

Hi All,
I have decided to change my name because my previous name "Anonymous" was not sufficiently descriptive of my nature.
In the future, please feel free to refer to me as Stupid Coward regardless of which name I post with.
Thank you,
Stupid "Anonymous" Coward
Nice try you future McClintock supporter:
Use what ever name you like, but we know those hiding at this point REALLY want Mr. Ose to win, but just don't think he is going to make it and since they will have to come out in the fall as named supporters of Senator McClintock over the liberal Democrat it will save some embarrassment later on.
We understand, but we do know!
John
What are we going to talk about after June 3?
Mark,
Here is a possible list of "Top Ten Priorities" that we could start with. Let me know what you think.
1) The Federal Deficit: Spend only what comes in and make the Bush tax cuts permanent so you don't lose any revenue! End the earmark scandal
2) The War on Terror: Allow our troops to win where they are engaged and tell the domestic forces to go after "bad guys" and not grandmothers at the airports
3) Energy independence: FAST-TRACK oil development for ANWR, gulf waters and North Dakota that has as much oil available as Saudi Arabia: AND build some refineries to turn it into gasoline!
4) Immigration reform, which for now can jut be getting the government to enforce the laws we have on the books, which includes completing the border fence which is authorized and funded
5) Roads & Highways: Abolish the federal gasoline tax now that the Interstate highway system is finished and return money and control to local states and counties
6) Resources: Allow Northern California to develop and use their vast natural resources as they see fit... Just like those folks east of the Rockies were allowed to do!
7) Social issues: Assist with passage of the Defense of Marriage Act and Sarah's Law to require parental notification before an abortion can be performed on a minor. Bring the federal education money home to the local schools and parents who know best how to spend it!
8) Tort Reform where going to the English loser pays system would REALLY stimulate the economy
9) Presidential issues: Help keep the White House in Republican hands so that the next two or three appointments to the US Supreme Court can finish building a solid conservative majority
10) Help elect a "Reagan Majority" of solid conservatives to the US Congress and work toward a "Reagan Super-majority" of 60 US Senator which would make it SO much easier to do the first eight items!
John
PS: In case you do not believe my comment about North Dakota, you can read about it here: http://tinyurl.com/46j4zd
11) Step through the looking glass into conservative fantasy land where Up is Down and Down is Up
