Placer County Loses a Public Servant

Posted by: Kirk Uhler | 05/07/2008 11:12 AM

I received a phone call this morning from Undersheriff Devon Bell informing me that Bill Santucci had passed away last night.

Bill served the citizens of Roseville as both a Council member and Mayor.  He served the residents of Placer County as Supervisor of District One for three terms before retiring.  After retirement, he accepted the position of Planning Commissioner for District One.

Bill was a gentleman and a public servant, in the truest sense of the words.

My family and I pray for his wife Norma, and the rest of the family Bill leaves behind.

I was blessed to have served with him and am a better person for having known him.  I will miss him.

Bill was a great supervisor, and will be greatly missed. He was one of our county's "Reagan Democrats" -- and I still remember seeing him and his wife show up at Republican headquarters to walk precincts for President Bush. Our prayers are with his family.

I suppose I should use my name on this site, to make it clear. :)

That last comment was from me.
