Ose's Inappropriate Behavior

Posted by: Ken Campbell | 05/02/2008 2:20 PM

Yesterday was the National Day of Prayer and William Jessup University hosted a prayer breakfast for south Placer County.  During the National Day of Prayer differences are put aside and people unify for the purpose of praying for the local community, state and nation along with praying for all leaders of all political persuasion.

Apparently former Sacramento Congressman Doug Ose has never attended a National Day of Prayer event or he doesn't understand the purpose because Ose parked himself at the entrance to the breakfast.  Ose was not only pimping for votes, but he was badmouthing Tom McClintock.

Not only was this behavior inappropriate but also it was shameful because Ose interjected his own selfish personal agenda above the whole reason the community was coming together.  Ose's interest was apparent because when the people sat down and the program started-- Ose split.

What is next for Ose?  May be parking himself at the entrance to churches on Sunday to pimp for votes and badmouth Tom McClintock-- and of course when the service starts Ose is gone.

The irony of the whole incident was that Ose did more damage to himself than help.  People found it offensive that Ose could be so self-centered and self-serving, ignoring the whole reason for the community gathering.  And of course the crowning blow occurred when Ose could not demonstrate enough respect for the community to stay for the service.

The reason why people of faith respect Tom McClintock so much is because Tom understands everything does not revolve around him (Tom) and there are things bigger than him.  Tom also understands appropriate behavior.

Ken,

I suspect the reason Cabana Boy left early was that after trying to explain how he voted against the partial birth abortion ban before he voted for the ban was confusing people and not winning him much support in that group.

Further Irnoy was that O-Si was sitting at a table with a whole bunch of Bayside staff. Talk about out of his element.

Aaron and Ken,

Please help me understand something.

Ken, you wrote, “Ose's interest was apparent because when the people sat down and the program started-- Ose split.”
Aaron, you wrote, “Further Irnoy was that O-Si was sitting at a table with a whole bunch of Bayside staff. Talk about out of his element.”

Either he split as soon as people sat down, as Ken said, or he stayed and was out of his element, as Aaron said.

One of you is either just wrong on your facts or are lying to try to make Doug look bad. Based on previous posts, I know who my money is on.

Kirk,

My theory is much simpler: The Cabana Boy has seen the tracking polls and is looking for help anywhere he can find it!

John,

Cute theory. Now which one is lying, Ken or Aaron?

Kirk,

I was not there, so you have to take what I say with a grain of salt, but I am preaching through the Gospel of Luke so I do know a little something about trying to see how what appear to be different versions of the same event together in a truthful manner. It happens in courts with multiple witnesses as well.

So try this, giving the best light to what Mr. Ose did that morning and having both Ken and Aaron being truthful in what they reported.

Doug is encouraged to come to the breakfast by friends who attend Bayside. The candidate is in candidate mode 33 days from the election so he stand nears the entrance and does what he does at every event, which Ken saw and reported as inappropriate. As things settle down and the program is about to begin Doug settles down with the folks who invited him at the Bayside table. Aaron sees this and thinks to himself, IF they knew what Mr. Ose's positions on the social issues were they would be shocked so he gives the comments he made. Finally, Doug has another meeting which his scheduler packed into his busy day and has to leave without staying for the formal program, which Ken sees and reports as well.

Is that better than cute? Still think he may have asked his Bayside friends to pray for his campaign :)

Let's all leave Doug alone. From what I've been seeing and hearing in this race, he needs all the prayers he can get.

John,

Sorry, that still doesn't cut it.

Ken wrote, "Ose's interest was apparent because when the people sat down and the program started-- Ose split." He then followed that up with, "People found it offensive that Ose could be so self-centered and self-serving, ignoring the whole reason for the community gathering. And of course the crowning blow occurred when Ose could not demonstrate enough respect for the community to stay for the service."

Conversely, Aaron wrote that Doug stayed and was seated with staff from Bayside Church.

So, either Doug left when the program started, and in doing so offended those in attendance as Ken reported from his first hand observation, or he stayed and was seated with Bayside staff, as Aaron reported from his first hand observation.

Based on Ken’s historic pattern of completely fabricating things that he supposedly witnessed first hand just to try to spin it into a damaging story, I’m inclined to believe Aaron’s version and chalk this up to yet another instance of Ken not letting facts get in the way of his story.

Kirk,

John is right. Ose was there, planted at the entrance. He sat down at the very beginning but when the program started.....he split.

Kirk, Karen, Ken and John - Sorry, I have had some really long days and am now just getting back to the computer. (I know this is a shock to some who think I live on blogs...)

Kirk - Ken's portrayal of Ose's behavior is accurate and was only missing a few details.

Karen England, George and I sat at the same table.

Ose camped by the entrance. Ose stayed long enough to eat - so he stayed through the first part of the program.

After I was done eating, Ose was sitting at a table with four pastors from Bayside. I went that way to get a cup of coffee (they were out btw) and was called over to that table by one of the Bayside pastors that recognized me.

Needless to say, Ose was not really interested in my conversation with them as he was only two seats away and was talking to two other people at the table.

I proceeded to nail down a couple of votes for the Placer CRA slate of Cent Com candidates and returned to my table. George and I left at 8AM to return to our office.

Ted Gaines led off with a scripture reading at appx 7:40 - then Ose supporter Jim Holmes led a prayer. Between that prayer and the third following prayer when a CHP Chaplain was leading a prayer after tearfully remembering an officer that was murdered in the line of duty...

Ose had left the room in that 10 minute window. George and I left while the CHP Chaplain was praying.

Kirk - I hope this is of assistance in setting the record straight.

Karen - feel free to add anything if I missed something.

Boy, if we could get folks to spend this amount of time sorting out the official Ose voting record for the 3rd district Senator McClintock would win by an even BIGGER margin!

John

I wish I could've been there... man Ose, is just out of touch with what core GOP voters want, sincerity.

I am still counting on Terbolizard though. I just believe that the 4th district is capable of producing it's own candidates, we don't need the big city guys representing us, let them represent their own districts.

So...it's OK for Aaron to "pimp for votes" but not Doug?

Aaron: "I proceeded to nail down a couple of votes for the Placer CRA slate of Cent Com candidates and returned to my table."

Ken, re: Doug's behavior at the event: "Ose was not only pimping for votes, but he was badmouthing Tom McClintock."

And apparently it's OK for Aaron and others to leave early, but not Doug.

Aaron: "George and I left at 8AM to return to our office....."Between that prayer and the third following prayer when a CHP Chaplain was leading a prayer after tearfully remembering an officer that was murdered in the line of duty...

Ose had left the room in that 10 minute window. George and I left while the CHP Chaplain was praying."

Ken re: Doug's behavior at the event: "Ose's interest was apparent because when the people sat down and the program started-- Ose split...What is next for Ose? May be parking himself at the entrance to churches on Sunday to pimp for votes and badmouth Tom McClintock-- and of course when the service starts Ose is gone."

So, it appears that this time it is Ken who is telling lies....I know John, he just has a different perspective of the event than others....but where I'm from we call it lying. Maybe they don't in Chico, but here in the 4th district, we do.

In the last couple weeks we've gone from class warfare (a tried and true democratic tactic) to the race card (another liberal tool and a sure sign of utter desperation) to an attack that is tantamount to calling someone an atheist or dirt worshipper (a tactic employed equally by both parties). Where oh where will the McClintock tour of desperation go next? Maybe a trip to "extramarital affairs" land. Or maybe a jaunt over to McCarthy-land and an accusation of being a communist or even a terrorist.

Buckle up folks, and pull up the knee-high rubber boots, the McClintock camp is just getting started.

Apparently there are people with lots of spare time who choose to use that spare time speculating on the exact time former Sacramento Congressman Doug Ose left the breakfast. The up side to this is the more time Kirk Uhler spends spinning his wheels on his speculations, the less time he is able to spend raising our taxes or helping Ose to raise our taxes.

I guess I should have gone into more detail to describe the breakfast. Since the attendees walked to the back of the room, stood in line and served themselves breakfast-- this afforded Ose time to slither around and pimp for votes.

When everyone served themselves and sat down the formal program started and continued to 8:50 am. Ose sat down with everyone and at the first convenient, inconspicuous moment, he split.

Why is this important? Because it demonstrates where Ose's heart is, it shows his motivation. Ose's motivation was not to sincerely join with the local community to pray for the needs of the community, state and nation-- but rather Ose's motivation was, in an opportunistic manor, to interject himself and politics into the National Day of Prayer. This further demonstrates nothing, absolutely nothing is sacred with Ose... everything is about Ose.

Ken Campbell - hypocrisy defined.

Karen England Author Profile Page said:

Not that Ken needs me to defend him but….Ken Campbell attends the Placer County prayer breakfast every year, not just when he is running for office. Has Doug Ose ever attended the prayer breakfast before this year? Did he consider himself a "conservative” before his run for office in Placer County?

Friends:

Any time anyone wants to attend a prayer breakfast, I say amen and thanks for joining us.

Let's put this one to rest and leave the judging to someone else.
