McClintock Appeals for Funds to Keep Radio Ad on the Air
Posted by: Jeff Flint | 04/15/2008 7:21 PM
This just over the transom from the McClintock campaign:
Dear E-Team:
Some of you may have heard our radio ad, shining the light on my opponent's liberal record and underscoring my conservative credentials. Thanks to your generosity and support, we have been able to keep this radio spot on the air for the last two weeks.
My opponent's negative smear campaign is out in full force, totaling almost two million dollars. We must continue to draw the distinction that on the important issues facing our country I am the conservative and my opponent is a liberal. This is why it is critical that we remain on the air. We simply cannot do so without your support.
Will you help us raise the $25,000 needed to continue our radio ad before the end of this week? Your urgent and generous online contribution of $200, $100, $50, or even $25 would go a long way towards raising this amount. You may also mail your contribution to: McClintock for Congress, 1029 K Street, Suite 44, Sacramento, CA 95814.
Thank you for your generous support. I am honored to have you by my side at this crucial juncture in our campaign.

In the words of Doug Ose, "In order to be a part of the club, you have to make accommodations..."
I guess one of those accommodations is to have radio ads that say no one took more per diem than Tom McClintock - hence McClintock's need to get his ad buy extended.
Please note that if Tim Leslie were still in the legislature - MTA could not write such an ad.
Please further note that all 118 members that take per diem get the same amount -
Jeff - you should rightly call what Ose is doing "spin" at best and get on line and donate to McClintock.
Tom has to go to donors for $... he doesn't have daddy's inheritance to spend like Ose.
Ken, does that mean you're against the death tax?
Someone wanted to know if Ken was against the death tax and since Ken may have gone to bed, I will let him or her and everyone that yes, Ken is against the death tax, I am against the death tax, most importantly, Senator McClintock is against the death tax.
Now before some Cabana Boy supporters shows us an Ose vote to end the death tax [which would be a good thing] please remember that we can also talk about taxing the Internet!
What we need in Washington is a taxpayer champion, not someone who goes along with the crowd when a Republican President is fighting for tax cuts.
John
John, I have always been curious what it means to "tax the Internet." Are we referring to sales tax in goods purchased over the internet? Are we referring to a tax on internet access? I believe I pay both of those now. Can you provide details of the supposed vote by Doug Ose to "tax the internet?"
Finally, with regard to a Republican Congressman from Northern California who fought with the President for tax cuts, it sounds like you are talking about Doug Ose. Wasn't he a Republican Congressman who voted for the President's tax cuts, the largest tax cuts in American history?
Oh, Jeff. Don't try and bring facts into the discussion because Aaron, John and Ken will come up with some creative spin (lie). You know, like the one about how McShopper voted for the repeal of the car tax before he voted against it - and then try and claim all the credit.
These threads are full of buyer's remorse for the "conservative" candidate. Perhaps they should have stuck with the original choice R. Oller. At least he could have spent some of his own money on the campaign, rather than grovel for funds while bemoaning the rules of the game.
Mr. Flint - have you forgotten that your "Team Player" Ose is quite fond of attacking other Republicans and is tied to both Vic Fazio and Bob Matsui.
Team Player Ose likes to give his money to Democrats.
Flint - you know that the internet tax thing was regarding a federal tax on the internet. You pay sales tax when the business you buy from is domiciled in CA and you don't when the business is elsewhere.
A lot of Congressman who are wrong on a multitude of issues voted for tax cuts. You have seen the laundry list on Ose.
