Please explain what you mean when you say a 3-2 conservative majority. As far as I can see they all voted for an increase of our car tax, they are all pushing for an increase in the sales tax, they are all pushing to give themselves a $70,000 raise, they all love their slush fund, they are all supporting Ose, and they are all fighting against THE CA friend of the taxpayer and foremost CA conservative leader, Tom McClintock. From my perspective I don't see a dime's worth of difference. So where do you see a difference???

Kirk Uhler voted no on one of the two car tax things and got a third one laughed out of the chamber... I talked to him on the phone the day after it happened.

Kirk Uhler wants a raise - but Doug Ose is not the candyman with that regard. Uhler is not asking for $70,000 raise - at least that is not what he told me... only Wayne Nader has suggested that.

Rocky Rockholm is a hardcore 2nd ammendment guy and is as pro-life as Kirk. He is not asking for a $70,000 raise either - I spoke with him about that issue as well.

Time will tell what kind of raise they are going to ask for as they are considering a few different formulas.

Placer is #53 out of 58 counties for Sup pay... maybe a raise commensurate with our counties' population? (make them about 30th or so?) But Doug Ose has not Promised our board of supes that candy. (at least not over the pay raise thing)

Bruce Kranz looks like he is under siege from liberals wanting his seat. Kranz is and should be our guy...

Kranz, Rocky and Kirk are what is keeping Placer from going totally Green-no-growth.

Now - what is inexcusable is their support of Doug Ose and their rationale for doing so. That will be a subject of a post.

Concerning the raise, according to the people at League of Placer County Taxpayers, Kirk Uhler and Bruce Kranz are behind the $70,000 raise. They have treated the good people of the League like dirt, very arrogant. If they are against the raise as you state, let's see them vote against it.

The proposal I would prefer to see is take the $100,000 slush fund and if they don't spend it, then use that as the raise. If they squander... oh sorry... if they spend it then they get no raise.

Personally I do not believe the supervisors are pro-gun or pro-life or what ever you want to assign to them. If they really had principles they would stand by them. They are no better than our Republican Congress that had complete control... and they found principles inconvenient, and they went on a spending spree. They only differece between what these supervisors did and what congress did is that the supervisors sold out in the peon position of county supervisor. These guys only accomplishment is to raise taxes, spend the slush fund, expand government and work to increase their pay. As far as I am concerned these supervisors have proven pretty worthless and should be thrown out.

Kranz is pushing the pay raise harder than anyone. He is a fake conservative. If you ask me, he would have a hard time finding employment if it were not for his current job.

It's good to see today we like Kranz, Uhler and Rockholm. ....until tomorrow.

Hey, there is an easy way to tell who the conservatives are: Now that it is a two man race, it will be the ones who ultimately support conservative McClintock over liberal Ose in the 4th Congressional seat!

Is our goal to be #1 out of 58? At what point do we stop asking for more money from the tax payers?

Isn't the staff for the Suprevisors paid for out of tax dollars?

I don't want to see any conservatives lose their seat, I don’t like that they endorsed a liberal over McCintock but we would be worse off if we had all liberals on the Board of Supervisors. I still think we should focus on Ose’s record, not his endorsements. Let’s stay focused and choose our battles.

Even though I support Kranz over Houston I am not going to turn on Gaines because of this endorsement. Assemblyman Gaines has served our district well.

I guess this means the non-profit I run (and try and raise funds for) won’t be getting a check from Houston.

Bruce Kranz is the main reason that Rex Bloomfield is off the Board of Supervisors. For that alone, Bruce deserves the enthusiastic support of conservatives.

Add to that his record of fighting for property rights, standing up for fire prevention in the overgrown forests in the Tahoe region and his tireless efforts to represent his district well, I think Bruce has earned re-election.
