Is Ose Good for District 5?

Supervisor Bruce Kranz tells us he supports Doug Ose because Ose is good for Placer County's District 5. District 5 extends from north Auburn to Lake Tahoe and is in fact the district Kranz represents.
In order to understand what Doug Ose has done to District 5, you must understand how much Ose loves the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The NEA (read taxpayers) funds "art" that cannot find funding elsewhere. The crucifix in a jar of urine was their best-known "art" exhibit along with what was called "homo-erotic art". Honestly I am too embarrassed to describe that "art", but I am sure you can imagine.
With my quick research I found that left-of-center Ose voted at least three times not to make minuscule cuts and not fund this "art"-- HR 2466, July 14, 1999, roll call vote 287; in 2000 with HR 45, roll call vote 282; in 2001 with HR 2217, roll call vote 184.
How this relates to District 5 is found with HR 5093, 7/17/02, roll call vote 314.
Tom Tancredo's amendment would have transferred $ 50 million from the NEA to the US Forest Service, and Ose voted against this.
Remember much of District 5 is US National Forest including the Tahoe Basin. What is the purpose of the US Forest Service? They manage the forest.... and prevent forest fires. Think Smokey the Bear.
So for left-of-center Ose, and apparently Bruce Kranz, a NEA funded (read Placer taxpayer funded) crucifix in urine is more important than forest (and fire) management in the Tahoe Basin. I guess this is called priorities.

Ken - this is devastating!
Outstanding post thank you!
That crucifix in urine disgarce happened YEARS before Doug Ose even announced his 1998 run for Congress, which, of course, means that the understandibly disgusting piece of "art" was incepted years before Ose was even a member of Congress.
To discuss the urine piece and Ose's NEA funding is misleading, to say the least.
Also, it's totally unfair to suggest that Bruce Kranz agrees with EVERY position Ose takes.
Ken, I have no idea why you have it in so hard for Doug Ose. I admit he cast some votes that are dodgy, but your rancor seems a little personal.
That said, although I don't live in your district, I feel he is the best candidate running, barring a McClintock entrance. Of course, it would be nice if Tim Leslie jumped in.
Not Quite - what you deliberately dodge (before specious comments about not being on Ose's staff)...
Is that the NEA has been an outlet for filth for years. The crucifix display is the most memorable abomination they have displayed - see also defecation on a picture of Jesus...
Ose voted against cutting their (the NEA's) funding. And, he voted against a funding diversion to pay for forest fire protection...
What this means is Ose prefers bureaucrats to the people in his district. The NEA pays the salaries of a bunch of bureaucrats - diverting the money to the Tahoe Basin would protect people.
Ose was indeed consistent with the pro-environment bent of the Main Street Partnership (the anti-Republican Republican Group)... the Enviros recently got a Clinton appointed judge to block forest thinning so more people can die in wildfires.
Meantime - Ose votes against assisting fire prevention in the name of the arts.
I am tired of seeing people's lives ruined by the enviros and Republicans that are in their pockets.
As for the NEA - anyone that votes in favor of putting that abortion of a Government agency ahead of property owners should not be worthy of any endorsements at all.
I guess Ted Terbolizard, Rico Oller and Eric Egland have one up on Ose on this issue.
Oller v. Ose’s CRA scoring record:
2000 CRA Assembly Scorecard
Oller: 100%
2001 CRA Senate Scorecard
Oller: 95%
(dinged 5% for a missed vote due to a health issue)
2003 CRA Senate Scorecard
Oller: 100%
2004 CRA Senate Scorecard
Oller: 100%
Rico has an A+ rating from the NRA and was given the Defender of Freedom Award by the NRA in 2000. Chris Cox from the NRA has nothing but the best to say about Rico and how well he defends the Second Amendment. They backed him in 2000 and will no doubt be backing him again in this race.
From a press release dated 1/17/08 from the Gun Owner of America:
“Rico has a primary opponent in former liberal Republican Congressman Doug Ose. During Ose’s six years in Congress, he earned a GOA “F” on every single one of our ratings for house members. Doug Ose probably has his picture framed and hanging on the wall at Handgun Control Inc. (now the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun violence), since he was one of their best friends in Congress.
In contrast — Rico Oller was a perfect “A” rated member of the California Legislature during his tenure. And, Rico is the human equivalent of the “energizer bunny.” This guy is a type A++ personality, who never stops campaigning and promoting our Second
Amendment rights. Every time Gun Owners has an event in California, Rico Oller is there, promoting our organization and the Second Amendment. And he will be there for gun owners all over the country when he is elected to Congress.”
Ose on the issues:
Voted NO on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage. (Sep 2004)
Ose Voted NO on protecting the Pledge of Allegiance. (Sep 2004)
Ose Voted NO on banning gay adoptions in DC. (July 1999)
Ose Voted NO on military border patrols to battle drugs & terrorism. (Sep 2001)
Ose Supports immediate reductions in greenhouse gases. (Sep 1998)
Ose Voted NO on passage of the Bush Administration national energy policy. (June 2004)
Ose Voted NO on implementing Bush-Cheney national energy policy. (Nov 2003)
Ose Rated 61% by the Christian Coalition: mixed voting record on families. (Dec 2003)
Ose Voted NO on decreasing gun waiting period from 3 days to 1. (June 1999)
Ose Rated D+ by the NRA, indicating a pro-gun control voting record. (Dec 2003)
Ose Voted NO on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment. (May 2004)
Ose Rated 0% by FAIR, indicating a voting record loosening immigration. (Dec 2003)
Ose Rated 59% by NTU, indicating “Satisfactory” on tax votes. (Dec 2003)
From Human Events:
“Easily the hardest-fought GOP primary for the U.S. House was in the 3rd District (Sacramento), where moderate Republican Rep. Doug Ose is retiring after six years. In what could be a dramatic upset, at press time, former State Attorney General (1990-94) and 1998 gubernatorial nominee Dan Lungren held a slim lead over the long-presumed front-runner, State Sen. Rico Oller, by far the most conservative candidate.”
Lungren helped steal guns from law abiding citizens and he supports Ose so you can be assured that Ose will help Dan in Congress take the rest of our Second Amendment rights and flush them down the toilet!
Rico for Congress!!!
