As my headline indicates, news about a pending announcement (or lack thereof) will dominate tomorrow's newspapers and political punditry over the next few days.

A short excerpt from each:
Associated Press - GOP Rep. John Doolittle of Rocklin, who is under investigation in a federal influence-peddling scandal, is summoning supporters and aides for meetings later this week amid speculation that he may drop his bid for a 10th term. Separately, Doolittle organized a staff meeting for Wednesday and invited some former aides, according to one of the people invited. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the event was not public.
Sacramento Bee - The e-mail went out as reports swirled Doolittle will soon announce he will not run for a 10th term in Congress and instead will cast his support behind former state Sen. Rico Oller, R-San Andreas.
Roseville Press-Tribune - Congressman John Doolittle has scheduled a series of meetings with those close to him this week, fueling speculation he won't seek another term in office.

Aaron, when can I get my steak dinner after the Congressman bows out of this race? I like mine medium rare.
Allan:
You'll have to wait in line, Aaron will owe me a lot more than one steak dinner.
Jeff
Jeff and Allan - I don't recall either of you taking the bet.
If you did - please forward me a copy of the e-mail where you accepted.
I only had one taker, that was Adam from the liberty report...
We agreed verbally at the CRA Convention. Anyways, what's your scoop Aaron? This press conference Doolittle has called seems to indicate he will be retiring.
And I can taste it now...
