2009-2010 California Budget Passes
By Chris Emami | 02/19/09 | 04:53 AM EDT | 0 Comments
Tax hikes have not yet been voted upon, but the 2009-2010 budget passes 27-12, with Senators Roy Ashburn (R-Bakersfield), Dave Cogdill (R-Modesto), and Abel Maldonado (R-Santa Maria) voting with all 24 Democrats, including Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana).
The 2008-2009 budget cuts passed 31-8, winning the votes of the majority of the Senators of both parties. The various trailer bills necessary to implement the 2008-2009 cuts are all passing by various margins.
Again, the tax hikes have not yet been voted upon, but it is fairly evident that the tax hike bill will pass due to support from the same gang of 27: Ashburn, Cogdill, and Maldonado again joining all 24 Democrats (including Correa).
