Pat Bates Expected To Be Next Board of Supes Chairman
By Matthew Cunningham | 12/31/08 | 08:34 AM EDT | 0 Comments
When the OC Board of Supervisors next meets on January 13, they'll conduct board re-organization by electing new officers, and it's expected Vice Chair Pat Bates will be elected chairman.
Current Chairman John Moorlach has no desire for a second term as chair. Besides, since Pat is up for re-election in 2010, it makes more sense to do her tour of duty as chairman in 2009 because being chairman is actually adds drag to seeking re-election: it involves more time commitments and you can't use "Chairman of the Board of Supervisors" as a ballot title.
Who then, will take the vice chair slot? My money is on Sup. Bill Campbell, if he wants it.
