Matt Cunningham and I have both posted previously on various close races in Orange County, so here's an end-of-week update on the races.

In the Garden Grove City Council race, Republican Andrew Do's lead over Democrat Robin Peace Marcario has declined from 1111 from yesterday's count to 1071 in today's count, but I'm standing by my previous post declaring Andrew Do the winner in this race because I just don't think there's enough ballots left for Marcario to catch Do.  I'm not sure this even qualifies as a close race anymore.

In the Westminster City Council race, Republican Truong Diep has reduced his gap with Democrat Penny Loomer by 6 votes from a 58-vote deficit in yesterday's count down to a 52-vote deficit in today's count.  I am very confident he will be ahead when all the votes are tallied because the ballots have consistently trended his way in late counts.

In the Yorba Linda City Council race, Republican incumbent Jim Winder was losing to Republican Ed Rakochy (endorsed by the so-called Yorba Linda Residents for Responsible Representation, an anti-growth group) by 75 votes yesterday, but Winder slightly improved today to a 72-vote deficit.

In the Santa Ana Unified School District race, Youth Program Director Roman Reyna (D) was losing to union-backed candidate Valerie Amezcua (D) by 16 votes yesterday.  He lost slight ground today and is behind Amezcua by 20 votes now.  This is obviously anybody's race at this point.
