DeVore v. Boxer?
By Matthew Cunningham | 11/11/08 | 04:30 PM EDT | 0 Comments
Our friends over at TheLiberalOC.com have caught wind of Assemblyman -- and Red County blogger -- Chuck DeVore's plans to seek the GOP nomination in 2010 to challenge Sen. Barbara Boxer.
Chuck will be announcing his plans live over the Internet tomorrow at 1:00 p.m., or his press release put it:
I don't who else, if anyone, on the Republican side is looking at running for U.S. Senate in 2010. But I do know Chuck will be a feisty candidate who will provide Californians with a genuine choice between to starkly different visions of the proper relationship between the citizen and the federal government.
Boxer is a formidable candidate, but one who has also been the beneficiary of that fickle ally of candidates: luck. She eked out a narrow win in 1992 on the back of a smear engineered by her camp via dirty trickster Bob Mulhallond She won re-election in 1998 when GOPer Matt Fong dissipated an early-September lead with a rope-a-dope campaign. The viability of Bill Jones challenge to Boxer ended the day after he won the 2004 Republican primary.
So Godspeed Chuck. Giver Boxer hell!

Assemblyman DeVore will unveil his plans to kick-start an effort to stem the tide of liberalism in California and revive the true principles of the Republic.I realize that kind of language makes liberals snicker, but we could use more of it in an age in which our President-elect associates communism with sharing.
