ACORN Is Driving Me Nuts: I Propose My Own Change We Can Believe In

The trend in the polls seems to be staying steadily where they are at with Obama in the lead although it is still a very close race despite what the media would like to have you think. What has really made me angry is the recent news that some funny business has been taking place in terms of new voter registrations. The Dallas Cowboys starting lineup being registered to vote in Nevada is one thing but the fact that certain people are turning up as registered to vote 8 times is beyond ridiculous.
I believe it was Chris Buckley the blind boss of San Francisco (Democrat) a long long time ago that said, "Vote early and vote often." I guess it is nice that the more things seem to change the more they really stay the same. With this being done I propose my own changes that I feel should be implemented for 2010.
It is time to require voters to provide identification when they show up at the polls to vote. If they decide to vote absentee they should be required to mail in a xerox copy of their identification along with the ballot. In California I do believe that it is currently a requirement to mail in a xerox copy of your drivers license for your first time voting if you initially register as a permanent vote by mail voter.
I realize that strictly using drivers licenses would disenfranchise a great deal of people so I do not suggest that drivers licenses be used. I do however believe that some type of voter ID card should be established that would require a person to show some form of identification (birth certificate, social security card, drivers license, etc...) initially to actually receive the card. This would allow everybody the opportunity to vote should they choose to do so and it would make voter fraud much more difficult although I doubt that it will be eliminated.
If anybody currently up in Sacramento happens to stumble accross this I hope that they will strongly consider pursuing this as I think it would be a good policy to have in place.

Hi: I am enraged over what has come out about ACORN. The entire organization should be shut down!
