Does Palin Put Kibosh On Any Change Of Debbie Cook Upset?

Allen Hoffenblum wrote an interesting piece for "Fox & Hounds" today, discussing how the explosion of GOP enthusiasm for Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will impact down-ticket races in California. Hoffenblum doesn't believe there's any realistic possibility the Palin phenom will shift California into the McCain column, but believes it helps Republicans in congressional and legislative races targeted by Democrats.
A strong Obama tide and a de-energize GOP might tempt Democrats to spend significant dollars even in marginal races like CD46, where HB Mayor Debbie Cook is trying to knock off Rep. Dana Rohrabacher.
A Cook win is a very, very, very long shot, but the collateral splash of Obamania onto her race would give her a boost. But the counter-energizing of the Sarah Palin pick in the overwhelmingly GOP district will boost Republican turn out in CD46 and virtually bury whatever upset hopes the Cook camp was nurturing.

Yes,
Debbie's doomed, despite the fact that she's on TV with ads that emphasize the fact that she was a PTA mom and small business owner who only got involved in politics to fight out-of-tough corrupt politicains.
Like Sarah Palin, but in touch with her district and its values.
She'll never compete with Dana Rohrabache.
And Debbie is the mayorof a much larger city in California than Palin was; dare I say it, she's Vice Presidential material!!!
Palin has no stated position on Ramos and Compean, so much for the pro-Dana crowd.
Why doesn't Debbie run on the anti-desalination ticket she trumpeted while on HB Council? You know, the anti-business screed that says desalination seawater is bad and a private company building a desalination plant is worse.
Haven't heard her make that much of a campaign issue. Interesting.
Not even the high profile political guns Debbie recently hired can salvage her campaign. I hope the DCCC doesnt start pumping money into this effort, diverting funds away from races they can actually win.
I must say, her ads are decent...but it doesnt remove the fact that nearly 2/3 of the district disagrees with her positions. Hopefully she understands this campaign of hers is all fun and games, because I wouldnt want to see her too hurt on election night. She seems like a nice lady.
Dan, Cook wasn't Governor of anything. She may be Mayor of a larger city, but she hasn't been a Governor. Palin is a Governor.
For 22 years, what has Do Nothing Dana Done. Was he on Mc Cain's short list. Most voters vote for the person not the party. Give Debbie Cook the right to represent this District and do something.
