Westminster is losing long-time councilman Kermit Marsh, as he decided to run for Judge. This will leave a gap on that City Council, and a seat to be won by one of the challengers. The challengers have lined up now. According the the Secretary of State's letter drawing the ballot will apparently be in the following order:
1. Penny Loomer - long-time City employee, ending her career with the city by retiring a bit earlier than expected. She is a longtime Democrat. The last job she served in the City was as Assistant City Manager and she was not approached about filling the City Manager position when it became available. She lists her occupation as "Retired".
2. Alin Hamade - Currently Mayor Rice's appointee to the Financial Review Committee and to the Traffic Commission. She is supporting him in the Council Race as well as Frank Fry. He is also a member of the Chamber of Commerce. He owns his own business (not in Westminster). He lists his occupation as "Business Owner".
3. Truong Diep - He is currently Andy Quach's appointee to the Traffic Commission. He is an elected official on the Midway City Sanitary District. His experience is mostly working for Assemblyman Van Tran as a Sr. Field Representative and he is the junior member of the field - about 25 years old.
4. Frank Fry - Frank Fry has been on the City Council for about 35 + years. His experience is overwhelming. He serves on other boards in the county as a part of being on the council. He regularly backs up the Mayor on public appearances. He lists his occupation as "Councilman".
5. Allan Krippner - Kermit Marsh's appointee to the Planning Commission for many years, Allan serves on other committees and is an Elected Official on the Midway City Sanitary District. He has many years of experience with City matters, and at least a couple of years serving as an elected official and has the experience of decision making at many levels. He lists "Recruiting Consultant" as his occupation.
And last but not least -running for Mayor, UNCHALLENGED is Margie Rice for her 4th term as Mayor.

Why is it they like to be so coy about their "secret identities" here?
Dear readers: as the author, it is my responsibility to keep anonymous the authors of this blog so I was forced to remove his name.
Thank you,

Dear Vern:
Sometimes authors like to remain anonymous because they either work for an elected official or are an elected official and sometimes what they say may not be in the best interests of the offices to which they owe allegiance. Or, conversely, some authors use this blog to promote their own agendas, which is not "cool", but is done. So maintaining some anonyminity is sometimes helpful to both author and reader.
Vern, then why do you have all those weird handle names in your near defunct, the orange juice blog?
