Shoe On The Other Foot In Santa Barbara County

Last summer, Bob McLeod, the long-time general manager of the Association of Orange County Deputiy Sheriffs, left to take a job with the County of Santa Barbara.
McLeod was a tough negotiator for the AOCDS, and helped secure their 3%-at-50 pension increase, along with the retroactive portion.
The interesting thing about McLeod's move to Santa Barbara County was he'd be working under Assistant CEO for Human Resources Sue Paul, with whom he'd negotiated as AOCDS GM. In his new job, however, he'd be negotiation with the unions on behalf of the Santa Barbara County.
The reason I bring this up was I learned recently McLeod was not very popular with county employee unions -- especially the deputy sheriff's union.
A strange turning of the worm.

What's so strange about it? He's serving a different master now. It's not rocket science.
Do you expect him to give away the farm now that he's working for the county?
The only story here is that Bob consistently represents the interests of those he is hired to represent. I suppose there's a little irony in the fact that he's on the other side of the fence but that's not uncommon in life.
