Official Campaign Kick-Off in Little Saigon

In conjunction with the Republican Party of Orange County, Assemblyman Van Tran held a grand opening celebration of the Victory '08/McCain Campaign Office this past Saturday in Little Saigon.Aside from the activists and party members in attendance, the event also attracted many elected officials representing Central Orange County such as Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Westminster Mayor Margie Rice, Garden Grove Mayor Bill Dalton, and Stanton Mayor Al Ethans. I won't list everyone on here.
Emceed by Chairman Scott Baugh, the program lasted about an hour with multiple speakers. Baugh introduced everyone in the audience to this new chant, "NO BO". It took me a few minutes to get it - "No Barack Obama".
At this event, Tran and the party's GOTV Director Saulo Londono also announced a new bounty program for voter registration in Central Orange County. This is a joint effort by Tran, Rohrabacher and Congressman Ed Royce. The three of them have agreed to chip in personal campaign money to increase the bounty for each Republican voter affidavit.I was surprised to see uber-donor Dale Dykema there to support the event and our Republican nominee John McCain. He was also there to speak about the New Majority's effort in outreaching to ethnic communities.
Kudos to George Andrews, Marc Ross, and Kevin Muldoon for showing up on a Saturday morning. Both Andrews and Ross were instrumental in getting the resources for this campaign office.

I was surprised at all of the local electeds and candidates that attended. Congressional candidate and school board member Rosie Avila; Stanton Councilmen David Cadena, Dave Shawver and Ed Royce Sr.; Stanton council candidates Alex Lam and Carol Warren; Fountain Valley candidate Mark McCurdy; Irvine City Councilman Steven Choi; Garden Grove school board member and city council candidate Trung Nguyen; GG Councilwoman Dina Nguyen; Westminster Councilmen Tri Ta and Andy Quach; Westminster City Council candidate Truong Diep; GG Schoolboard member Lan Nguyen and a few others I'm sure I am forgetting.
Add that to Congressman Dana Rohrabacher, Assemblyman Van Tran, Westminster Mayor Margie Rice, Garden Grove Mayor Bill Dalton, and Stanton Mayor Al Ethans, Chairman Scott Baugh, and uber-donor Dale Dykema.
Looks like our GOP electeds are getting mobilized for election time.
It's good to see OC Republicans coming in unity under one roof to support our Republican presidential candidate McCain.
May God Bless Assemblyman Van Tran and OC GOP chair Scott Baugh for their strong effort and leadership!
I wish more New Majority and Lincoln Club members were as committed as Dale Dykema to retaking Central OC for the GOP.
And Democrats say our party doesn't have any diversity. That room looked like the U.N. That is another good sign for long term GOP sucess in Central OC.
