"Obama Shifts, Says He May Support Offshore Drilling."This getting to be a habit on the Obamessiah's part. I'll be surprised when he actually sticks his guns when the heat is on.
I wonder if the Arrmy of Obamabots will heed The Master's voice and begin saying how drilling makes sense as part of a comprehensive energy strategy blah, blah, blah.

Making of the President 2008

Sounds like he's coming around to Debbie Cook's reasonable common-sense position: Offshore drilling is probably inevitable and needs to be done as carefully and responsibly as possible; everyone must remember that the effects on supply and price will be negligible and a decade off; and the overwhelming priority needs to be transitioning to a post-oil future. Wonder if he's been reading some of Debbie's essays?
Compared to his previous positions, this would be "refining," just like getting our troops out of Iraq on a sixteen-month timetable while working out the tactical details with commanders "on the ground" is "refining."
His FISA reversal on the other hand - now THAT was a flip-flop!
Says more about what a President should be than what we currently have
Says more about someone who looks at an issue and adapts correctly, but read Obama's entire statement. Drilling is not isolated by itself, drilling is part of an energy strategy that spreads itself across party lines and across the country
Energy should be the most bipartisan effort in our nation's history, particularly with what the NRC said this week about nukes
Says more about these past, and lost, eight years of George W Bush's energy policies
Sounds to me like a candidate that shifts his positions based on the most recent public opinion polls.
