School Board Candidate Running Chinese Fire Drill Campaign

Instead he's going to run for the Rancho Santiago Community College District Board of Trustees against incumbent Trustee Lisa Woolery, who will no doubt smite him in the November.
In June, Winant was crushed in his bid to unseat OC Board of Education Trustee Dr. Ken Williams.
With this latest maneuver, Winant has now run for three different school boards in less than three months. Apparently, he really wants to get elected to something...anything!
And to top it off, Winant has endorsed liberal labor lawyer Florice Hoffman, who's running against Trustee (and fellow Democrat) Melissa Smith (who actually represents Area 1...click here for the convoluted back story).
Here's what Winant told GONS:
"I had the opportunity to attend a couple of political functions this past weekend; one sponsored by Republicans and one sponsored by Democrats... I also had the opportunity to speak with a couple of prospective candidates for the open Board seat on the OUSD Board of Education.Well, that says about everything a Republican voter should need to know to vote against Winant.
I discovered that one of these candidates, Florice Hoffman, shares many of the same philosophies, strengths, and concerns that I do. I was quite impressed by how much time she has spent during the past year in preparing for this election and a seat on the OUSD Board of Education. I believe she could be a tremendous asset to that Board. Likewise, I also feel I would be a tremendous asset for Orange Unified but there is only one seat available. Since I believe I also have the background and qualities to be a strong contributing Board member on the Rancho Santiago Community College Board, I have chosen to switch to this race. I support Florice in her efforts to be elected to the OUSD Board of Education."
My choice in this RSCCD race was easy in any case. I have known Lisa Woolery for nearly twenty years. She's smart, conservative and has been an excellent trustee since first being elected in 1996. She works for the City of Tustin, but her background has been primarily in private sector and as a business owner.
Or voters can cast their ballots for a guy who's spent his career in a K-12 public education system characterized by mediocrity and self-preservation, and whose primary attribute seems to be an overwhelming desire to be elected to something -- a characteristci already too prevalent in local government.
Which leaves me, as a resident of OUSD Area 3, with a choice between Hoffman and Smith. Hoffman is out of the question, which means I have some thinking to do.

I've heard Dr. Alexia Deligianni is running for this seat. Alexia was the Orange County Republican Party's volunteer of the month recently, she is active with the Orange County Young Republicans, and the California Republican Assembly. If she runs, conservatives will have an obvious candidate to rally around: Alexia!
Jubal! It's your district! RUN! RUN! RUN!! I'll hold a fundraiser for you!! We need you!!
I can honestly state without any reservations that Alexia Deligianni will not be running for this seat. The only way she will run this year is if a vacancy is created in Area 1 (By Smith winning). She has just recently moved to the new Area 1 and is planning on running in 2010 when Melissa Smith retires. I just spoke with her and she told me, "Now is just not the right time for me to run."
Hey, "In the Know"... what if Melissa Smith wins the Area 3 seat? Will she throw her hat in the ring for a special election for Area 1 in 2009?
Yes she will.
