Villa Park to Vote on In God We Trust Motto

City Councils that vote on including "In God We Trust" as a motto that shall be displayed in the chambers are not that uncommon. What is fairly unusual to see is an entire city that votes on adopting the issue. In Villa Park "In God We Trust" will appear on the ballot and this is in my opinion a great thing.
Many people argue that this is a divisive issue and should not be included stating the need for a seperation of church and state. It should be noted though that at the urging of President Eisenhower Congress adopted "In God We Trust" as our national motto. Not only is it our national motto but it is also displayed in the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Those who are outright opposed to the motto should also stop using money because the motto appears on our currency as well. No matter how the vote finishes, I think it will be a fair decision because the people are voting on it.

Our american motto "In God We Trust" is also supported by our pledge of allegiance.
I hope our proud motto to be proudly displayed at all government buildings and entities. It's a positive message to the public and to the office holders.
We argue that the issue is not cosmetic, and it is not even a “separation of church and state issue” – it is a value issue.
Consider that the US Constitution and legal system are founded on such principle. Consider that activist judges and enlightened progressive individuals would like nothing more than to adopt a more secular, progressive, anti-God, European legal system, following Canada’s legal system’s lead. Or as Senator Obama might say, poor, uneducated people who cling to guns and religion……...
