Several new articles are now on the Irvine Tatter at www.irvinetattler.com.
"The Day Agran Was Censured" looks back at October 13, 2000, the day councilman Larry Agran was censured by his council colleagues for leaking to the press a flawed document with overly optimistic projects about the financial viability of the Great Park. The Irvine Tattler has obtained an audio copy of the meeting; although it runs nearly three hours, it's well worth the listen.
"Agran's Secrecy Ordinance" examines Agran's proposal to place a measure on the November ballot that could be used to circumvent the state's Public Records Act. City Hall would be allowed to deny you access to any document ruled as containing "private information" although state law says otherwise.
"Krom: You Don't Pay for City Services" shows you a video clip from the June 24 council meeting where Mayor Beth Krom insisted that city services come for free, you don't pay taxes for them.
"Gallinger: Enough is Enough" features a video clip of the Irvine lawyer who set up an independent committee to launder money from a Democratic Party fund into the Measure H campaign to smear councilwoman Christina Shea. In the video, Gallinger makes a long list of accusations about Shea, councilman Steven Choi and the Irvine Tattler.
As always, your interest in Irvine politics is greatly appreciated.
