Moorlach Reappointing OCERS Board Members

Supervisor John Moorlach caught flack from the county employee unions for replacing OCERS Board of Retirement member Tom Lightvoet with former Pat Bates' chief of staff Patti Gorczyca.
At one time it seemed as if Moorlach, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, would replace the three other BOS appointees to the OCERS Board of Retirement, which is being recalcitrant about the Board's lawsuit against the retroactive 3-at-50 pension spike lawsuit.
Doesn't look like that is going to happen. I saw on the agenda for Tuesday's meeting that Moorlach is reappointing Tom Hidalgo and Reed Royalty to terms ending December 31, 2009 and 2010, respectively.
What happened? Good question. It would seem to me that if you're going to clean house, you go all the way. Why take all that grief for replacing a single OCERS director, and then not go all the way and replace the other three?
Then again, maybe those remaining directors are seeing things a little differently in the wake of Tom Lightvoet's departure.
Stay tuned...
