How Time Flies

It seems like yesterday that we were voting for Governor along with all the other statewide offices that were on the ballot. I myself was on the ballot in a race for School Board (OUSD). Nearly 2 years later it is already time for the filing period to start with those people that we expect to be on the ballot along with a few surprises I am sure.
For example in Anaheim where I am from an interesting concept has crossed my mind along with the minds of others. Lorri Galloway will almost certainly run for re-election but will Harry Sidhu do the same? In political circles it has been speculated that he will sit out the 2008 election in order to run for Mayor in 2010.
What will happen in Irvine where a similar game of musical chairs seems to be being played for who will run and for what seat?
For those who are interested the filing period starts Monday July 14th and goes through Friday August 8th. In the case of a race where the incumbent has not filed for re-election the filing period will be extended another week to all except the incumbent.
I will be following the filing period very closely to see what surprises do pop up, but until then it is merely a guessing game. For those that want to join in on the gossip please add any rumors or speculation to the comments section on those who may or may not run.

2 seats, one viable candidate (Gail Eastman) coming out VERY strong with initial funding. Lorri Galloway is going to be sent packing, she has to be the most hated woman in Anaheim among those in the know. I know people who will vote for anyone to get Lorri out. So who gets Harry's seat? It is going to be an interesting race. Some kid named Steve Perez is already busy annoying the Heck out of us with his amateurish signs posted on public and private property. His only advertising seems to be a MySpace page with a private profile, not too helpful. I hear Hoagy may make a run for it, but the guy couldn't manage the school bonds, I am not handing him our General Fund. John Karzynsky-Ferguson (a nice guy) always talks of running, let's see what he does with it this year. Pepper? Pepper? Pat Pepper? Has anyone seen Pat Pepper?
I too have heard that John Karzynzki is going to be running this year.
