SD33 Mailbox: Mimi Dominates Final Week

Harry Sidhu's about-face abjuring of negative campaign tactics garnered some momentary good press, but I don't think it's going to save his Senate race.
My impression is he was starting to lose the battle for the VBMs, and the Walter's campaign OC Grand Jury Report mailer was the tipping point against him.
After Harry's press conference, the Walter's campaign just outmailed him. I received a couple of letters from "Harry and Gin" plus two of those huge, almost placard-size mailers. The latter were good -- they got your attention and soften Harry's image.
In any case, among the Mimi mail that arrived was this piece on Friday:
The final mailer was another positive piece that landed Saturday and today.
After the results are counted, I think Mimi Walters will win decisively - I'd wager in the 10-15 point range, maybe more.
Some candidates lose and fade away into oblivion. Others prove themselves formidable candidates even in defeat, and I think that will be the case with Harry, for a number of reasons.
First, he raised an absolutely enormous amount of money -- and I'd guess much of it was from sources not normally tapped for Republican campaigns. That sort of ability attracts the attention of political leaders like moths to flame.
Secondly, Harry does have a compelling personal story to tell, is an exceedingly hard worker and isn't afraid to try again even after losing (he didn't get elected to Anaheim Council until his second try).
Finally, the Republican Party could use some more "diverse" faces, to employ a euphemism. In a state like California, it helps to continue broadening the face of the GOP beyond white males.
I predict a victory for Mimi Walters tomorrow, but also a future for Harry Sidhu in GOP politics.

I think I and every other voter are throwing all of this junk mail in the circular file.
Thank God, it's almost over.
It's a good piece with clear partisan identification. If you saw nothing else, you saw "Walters" and a bunch of Republican elephants. Good name ID reinforcer.
It looks like we've seen another contest of the usual dirty politics.
But what is shameful - especially for a diverse county like Orange County - is the strong racist tone taken by the Assembywoman.
I do hope SD33 voters have the right minds to trash the junk mail from both candidates and simply vote based on the strengths of their two options.
I almost choked on my own vomit when I read, "I predict...a future for Harry Sidhu in GOP politics."
I thought Harry was the Antichrist, condemned by the CRA for loving union bosses and militant homosexuals.
I forgot, Harry is a liberal, too.
How could I forget that, when I read it over and over again in mail pieces from Walters and the CRA? Duh!
The warning message at the end of this piece tells an outright lie! "NO CONVERSATIVE SUPPORT and NO CONVSERVATIVE RECORD" is ridiculous. Sidhu's got support from numerous Republicans and brought many developers to Anaheim (he fought against giving free land to the NFL)! You must be a fool to take every word of Walter's ads as facts! How can I trust a liar?
All Republicans aren't conservative. Everyone should know that by now with Arnold and W. Harry Sidhu has NO conservative support besides maybe Norby. That is not a lie. And Sidhu's support from Norby is completely outweighed by his other support from big local government rubber stampers, public employee unions, liberal "Republican" organizations, and gay interests.
Harry Sidhu lied about his opponent supposedly "voting" for Fabian Nunez for Speaker. He lied about shredding supposedly future negative mail pieces. He lied about why he was calling his shredding press conference. He lied about his support for the gay agenda. His lies far outnumber any lies his opponent may or may not have expressed.
Phew! We've been saved from the Evil Sidhu, a Liberal who loves Militant Homosexual Union Bosses. Walters should have used the photo at this link:

Like I said, "future for Harry Sidhu in GOP politics"? There will no no sequel - Revenge of the Sidhu.
Just for the record, the post above was sarcasm. I am appalled at Walters campaign and the CRA. Harry's life story is a great one, and I am respectful of his Indian heritage.
Lame. You must think little of those who read this site. You fit right in with the Sidhu campaign.
No. Yes. No.
Walters and the CRA are haters.
"Haters"? Haters of what?! Asinine and immature comments like yours?
The polls close in three-and-a-half hours.
Can we please give it a rest?
