This just came over the transom from the Governor's Office:
Governor Appoints OCBC President and CEO Lucy Dunn to California Transportation Commission
IRVINE, CA -- Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced Wednesday that he has appointed Orange County Business Council (OCBC) President and CEO Lucy Dunn to the California Transportation Commission (CTC). The CTC is responsible for programming and allocating funds for the construction of highway, passenger rail and transit improvements throughout California. The Commission also assists in formulating and evaluating state policies and plans for California's transportation programs and is an active participant in the initiation and development of State and Federal legislation that seeks to secure financial stability for the State's transportation needs.
"Ensuring transportation infrastructure meets the needs of a growing population is a top priority for the business community and for our quality of life," said Dunn. "The opportunity to serve the California Transportation Commission is a great honor and an opportunity to address one of the State's most pressing issues."Congrats to Lucy Dunn. She's a rock. And it's nice to read a Schwarzenegger pronouncement I can actually applaud, for a change.
Prior to her tenure at OCBC, Dunn served as director for the Department of Housing and Community Development under Governor Schwarzenegger. She is a founding member of the Bolsa Chica Conservancy and the Foundation for Economic and Environmental Progress. She is also former vice president of the California Building Industry Association, former director of the National Association of Home Builders and a former member of the Urban Land Institute.
"OCBC consistently prioritizes infrastructure and transportation issues because they are so central to a healthy economy," added Dunn. "Understanding this, I look forward to working with the Governor, the legislature and my fellow Commissioners to implement proactive, sustainable transportation solutions."
