Greenhut Leaving OC Register?

I thought I'd share this item from last week's OC Insider column by OCBJ Executive Editor Rick Reiff:
I wish Steve good luck, but if this think-tank gig pans out, we'll miss him.
UPDATE (10:02 p.m.): I spoke with Jon Fleischman earlier today, who had lunch with Steve Greenhut last week. Jon reports that Steve assured him he is not going anywhere, but is staying at the OC Register.
Top guns continue to leave the OC Register: Departing the same day as magazine-group leader Chris Schulz (to Gulfshore Media in Florida) were ad sales veep Joe Brenneman ("pursuing career ambitions") and human resources veep Ken Jones (retirement). Biz Editor Glenn Hall has left to become editor of TheStreet.com. And editorial page star Steven Greenhut confirms he's in the running for a think-tank job: "I'm sure all the local public-sector unions and government officials are pulling for me!" ...That's a bummer. Steve and I have our differences, but we agree probably 85% of the time. During the 17 years I've been involved in Orange County politics, there have been two OC Register editorialists covering local government: Harold Johnson and Steve Greenhut. It's nice to have columnists who have been around, know the lay of the land and can write informed opinion about local politics and government.
I wish Steve good luck, but if this think-tank gig pans out, we'll miss him.

Yes, Steve Greenhut will be missed regards to his commentaries over at the Orange County Register.
Now, I am curious what "Think-Tank" is leaning towards Steve.
Regardless, I wish Steve the very best!
Steve,
Thanks for costing us SD-34. You truly will be missed.
I frequently disagree with Greenhut politically but he's one of the smartest guys at the Register. He sees through all the BS and his an asset to the entire county. I'm glad to see in the update that he's not leaving!
Sorry to say that I won't miss the tirades. I often wonder who's being preached to, a choir full of people who already drank the Kool-Aid. No sensible compromise for politics in a modern USA, just idle kvetching.
