Gracias, Jack Anderson

Posted by: Jubal | 06/10/2008 2:25 PM

AS_JackAnderson.jpgFollowing today's Board vote appointing Sandra Hutchens as Sheriff, Supervisor Chris Norby made the classy gesture of asking Acting Sheriff jack Anderson to stand up, and thanked him for the hard and necessary work he had done during the past five months to steer the OC Sheriff's Department on the course of reform.

All in attendance responded by giving jack a standing ovation -- a very well deserved one.

Muchas gracias, Jack. I hope Hutchens will keep you on as Assistant Sheriff.

Now that would be classy!

No argument here. Acting Sheriff Anderson can only help the new sheriff.

Wow what a day. I continue finding myself in complete agreement with Matt Cunningham.

Jack Anderson deserves a world of thanks from the residents of Orange County. He stepped in during a very tough time and did an admirable job.

Jack Anderson is a class act and I hope that Hutchens decides to keep him on board. He will continue to be a valuable asset to the OCSD and I think he deserves the opportunity to continue serving the people of this county and the OCSD in some capacity.

As Dan Chmielewski can attest, when we sat down with Jack Anderson he was straight forward, open, forthcoming and honest with us. It was truly a pleasure to get a chance to sit down and talk to him and see what a genuinely good man he is.

Jack Anderson is a honorable man with the highest degree of integrity and morality. He stepped into the top spot knowing that it would put a huge target on him and he served with distinction and honor. All of Orange County owes him a huge debt of gratitude.

I am glad that Norby took the opportunity, in front of a full house, to openly thank Jack and that the crowd gave him a rousing standing ovation.

Thank you, Jack.

It looks like I am drinking the same kool-aid as Sean and Matt. LOL
There are times where I tend to jump the gun on certain political decisions, this was one of them. I remember writing an angry post when the Board made Anderson interim Sheriff, thinking is ties to Carona and the GOP would compromise his ability to do his job. I am glad I was proven wrong. He conducted himself with the utmost professionalism and truly sought to clean up the mess Carona left behind.

I still have my concerns with any Sheriff or DA serving on the Central COmmittee of either major party, but he showed he was not going to let that affiliation interfere with his job as Interim Sheriff. He earned the standing ovation and would be an asset to Sheriff Hutchens. Job well done Anderson, thank you for proving me wrong. You are a credit to the law enforcement profession.

Anderson knew about Carona's corruption and did nothing to stop it...How can you excuse that?? Just because he suddenly was responsive to the needs and the demands of the BOS doesn't mean he is worthy....He too is cupable along with Martini, Markison, et al

The problem is, Jack sent the Rank and File down the river during his short tenure. He did everything he could to cram his nose up Moorlock's A-Hole. But it didn't work, and now he is the lamest of ducks! Good luck Jack-off!

Jack Anderson did what needed to be done. It wasn't popular but it was necessary and it obviously wasn't done in concert with Moorlach because he clearly wasn't Moorlach's choice for Sheriff. Jack took the helm of a rudderless ship and got it back on course. He deserves thanks and praise.

I concur. Jack made a lot of tough decisions during his brief tenure - and he got rid of a lot of Carona trash. Good for him. He has made Hutchens' job that much easier. I also hope she keeps him on her command staff.
