I had the same thought as TheLiberalOC.com's Dan Chmielweski when I read Frank Mickadeit's column today.

Frank columnized about spending his time at Friday's OC GOP Flag Day Dinner, in part, "tracking down a rumor that [Dick Ackerman] was going to run for Irvine mayor and topple the Agran power structure."

We could have saved him the trouble. Dan first posted about the rumor on May 31 and again on June 3. I always thought the rumor was crazy, but on June 3 I called Dick and he squashed it, and posted as much on Dan's post.
