GBWA Runs The Board

This just came over the transom from a justifiably proud Gilliard, Blanning Wyscoki & Associates, which ran the board in their OC races:
GBWA Clients Sweep to Victories in Congressional, Legislative and Supervisor Races
SACRAMENTO - Clients of Gilliard, Blanning, Wysocki and Associates Inc. swept to victory Tuesday in contested Congressional, Legislative and Supervisor races.
In Orange County, long-time GBWA client, Assemblywoman Mimi Walters, received 73.6% of the vote in the heavily contested 33rd Senate District primary, beating Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu. GBWA client Diane Harkey easily won her primary in the 73rd Assembly District, and will be replacing Walters in the Assembly.
GBWA client Jeff Miller, the Mayor of Corona, overcame a 2-1 registration advantage enjoyed by his opponent, beating Rancho Santa Margarita Councilman Neil Blais by 15 points in the 71st District primary. Significantly, Miller led Blais in Orange County, while running up a huge victory in Riverside.
Also in Orange County, GBWA client and First District Supervisor Janet Nguyen defied conventional wisdom and avoided a run-off by winning an impressive 56% of the vote in her primary election against H. Van Tran and Dina Nguyen.
In San Diego County, GBWA client Duncan D. Hunter easily won his three-way Primary in the 52nd Congressional District, beating self-funding businessman Bob Watkins and local Councilman Brian Jones.
In Riverside County, GBWA direct mail client Brian Nestande defeated Kelly McCarty to win the 64th Assembly District GOP primary. The seat is currently held by Assemblyman John Benoit, who defeated former Assemblyman Russ Bogh for the 37th District Senate seat. GBWA assisted Benoit through an independent expenditure campaign featuring direct mail and television.

Dave has something you can't learn....a profound instinct. He picked his crop of candidates exceptionally well this cycle and served them well with good messaging and advocacy. Good job Dave and team.
Ummmm..... Hello Mr. Gilliard Sir ......Ummmmmmm my RSM City Council seat is up in 2010 and I was thinking .....well ....maybe ....you could help me.....please help me ......please
I was looking way back in November's archives and found this. "One Who Knows" is apparently a gypsy fortune teller:
Mimi Walters is the obvious choice of groups such as the New Majority, the Lincoln Club, CWLA and the Orange County Republican Party.
She's paid her dues in the Assembly. She works hard. She's a team player. She's easy to get along with. She's a conservative whom even liberals like. She's a good fundraiser. And...she's a woman!
Harry Sidhu needs to stop listening to those who whisper in his ear that he can win this race. Councilman Sidhu can not, and will not, defeat Mimi Walters in a Republican primary.
My concern is that Harry will get so invested in his campaign that he will have no option but to start trashing Mimi over some obscure votes she cast two, four or six years ago. Or make some outlandish claims of her being a closet liberal.
If he doesn't "drive up Mimi's negatives", Harry's support will be somewhere in the 25% range. With a $million or so dollars, he might get up to 40%-45%.
So he has two choices. Go negative early and often, or be an asterisk. Of course the third option is to opt out. Which I would strongly advise him to consider.

Gilliard and his team have an uncanny ability to read the Orange County voter. They've gotten some good competition in recent years, but these results for Walters, Miller and Nguyen speak for themselves.
