Draper, Benecke Recalled; Maddox, Palazzo Elected To CUSD Board

The absentee ballot and early voting results are in for the CUSD recall election, and the results are unequivocal and overwhelming: Trustees-For-Life Sheila Benecke and Marlene Draper have been recalled, and Ken Maddox and Sue Palazzo have been elected in their stead.
I don't care how well Benecke and Draper did on Election Day -- there is no coming back from those numbers.
UPDATE (June 25, 12:15 a.m.): Here's the final unofficial results:

The success of the recall isn't really a surprise: today's election has long had (for me, at least) the feeling of a long-overdue burial of a long-dead corpse.

CUSD Recall

OK, now we have 2 new Trustees. Let's move forward. I hope our school district can now stop fighting and get on an even keel. I pray the new guard can work as a team, and put the "Trust" back in Trustee.
CUSD Parent,
Sorry, you cannot "Pray the new guard can work as a team". These are public schools, no praying allowed, but you can hope...
I don't care if they fight, as long as they fight for taxpayers. If this new lot can't get the job done, then we fire them. It's that simple.
Ken and Sue -
Welcome aboard! We'll be watching you closely! Best of luck to you!
LOL...Sorry Spock, didn't mean to be politically incorrect.
Good riddance to the corrupt old guard incuments -- a truly humiliating and lopsided defeat!
Congratulations to the CUSD Recall Committee and newly-elected trustees Ken Maddox and Sue Palazzo. You've got a mandate for reform. Good luck and job well done!
OC_Spock:
You, CUSD parent, and anyone else can pray all you want at school. Many do.
The problem is when the *school* leads the prayer.
The last time this came to the Supreme Court, in 2000, the plaintiffs asking school officials to refrain from leading organized prayers at school functions included a Mormon and a Catholic. ( Santa Fe Independent School District v. Jane Doe )
Would I be asking too much if I suggested you actually learn the law of the land before making misleading, snarky comments?
Spock,
Would it be too much for you to read, and actually comprehend, someone’s post before turning it into a political debate?
My post said “I pray the new guard can work as a team, and put the "Trust" back in Trustee.”
Your response was “Sorry, you cannot "Pray the new guard can work as a team". These are public schools, no praying allowed, but you can hope...”
You have no right to tell me what I can or cannot pray for.
Would I be asking too much if I suggested YOU actually learn the law of the land before you tell me my rights.
Which one of my "snarky" comments is misleading?
CUSD Parent, TylerH,
Lighten up
It was totally tongue in cheek, satire, humor, irony, etc.
And the snarky post was from TylerH, not me,
Too much seriousness going on around here....
