AD71 Watch: Firefighter Unions On Opposite Sides Of Miller-Blais Fight

An interesting side note to the bitter primary battle between Corona Mayor Jeff Miller and RSM Mayor Neil Blais: both candidates have had a firefighter union do an independent expenditure on their behalf.
The OC Professional Firefighters Association gave $3,600 to Neil Blais for Assembly, and spent $12,929 in IEs on his behalf (Blais is an OC Fire Authority Director).
The California Professional Firefighters gave $4,000 to Miller for Assembly, and spent $13,730.29 on a full-page ad in yesterday's OC Register Local section.
I'm not implying there's any issue dividing the two unions -- just thought this was interesting campaign trivia.
