SD33 Watch: Sidhu Launches Blistering Attack Cable Against Walters

Posted by: Jubal | 05/07/2008 12:56 PM

The election is still a month away, but the SD33 GOP primary brawl between Assemblywoman Mimi Walters and Anaheim Councilman Harry Sidhu has already turned into a scorcher.

The Sidhu campaign began airing this cable TV ad last night:

Wow. The bundle of cash is just a little over the top, don't you think? [Although I predicted this would make it's way into a hit]

After watching this, I thought to myself, "If Harry loses, Mimi is going to start the Harry Must Be Destroyed independent expenditure committee."

Harry- that ad is gross and when Mimi wins, your political future will be over.

d'Anconia said:

Gross?

I don't know who will win this race, but I know a good political TV ad when I see one.

This one will cost Mimi a few points in the next poll.

Mafia Boss said:

Down,

Are you making Mafia threats, now? How civilized.

Down with Harry said:

D and Mafia-
No threats....an oberservation. He utilizes veiled accusation of taking bribes. That is gross. Completely unsubstantiated.

He better win this race because everyone knows what he is all about and no one will help him. His career is over.

Should have taken the deal on the 60th Harry. It is difficult to loose a race when you run one as dirty as you have so far and bounce.

I am supporting Mimi, and I heard Harry at a debate and liked him. I mentioned to someone that it was too bad he was running against Mimi because I would like to support him in the future. Not now. I am sure I am not the only one. His campaign team has done him a huge disservice.

I Dont Think said:

I dont think any reasonable viewer can hear and see that there was no implication that Mimi was taking a bribe. She took a salary increase. Watch the video. You can be on one side or the other, but making threats and bizarre observations doesn't help your case.

Game On said:

Okay. Watched the ad in the post. So Walters took the pay raise after she said she wouldn't. That's what she did. Walters votes twice for the dreaded Nunez. That's what she did. Game on. Guess the truth hurts.

Double standard said:

So let me get this straight, if you even RUN against Mimi Walters your GOP career is over. But you can repeatedly stab Van Tran in the back like Janet did and Mimi could care less. Heck she will still endorse you even if you display no conservative values.

Seems like a double standard to me.

What a waste of money! said:

Ha ha ha ha ha! This add means jack.

I hope Harry continues to pore his money into television ads. The exposure for him there is really quite miniscule for what he's no doubt paid.

The consultants are really cleaning up on Harry in this race. Good for them.

What is 15% on a television ad? said:

Much more than 15% on mail.

Does anyone know when the new Jags hit the showroom floor ?

SEIU said:

Harry we are in for a $100K IE
We know you will stand up for all public employees in Sacramento

IBEW said:

Go Go Harry- more paid state holidays for DMV workers are on the way with your leadership !!!!

Thanks for supporting the working poor of South Orange County.

Red Sock said:

Mimi does look like a flip-flop, huh? I've read her track record, and I must admit: I don't trust her too much. She had a lot of opportunities to do good for us, but she chose to 'avoid' most of them. I'll vote for Harry Sidhu.
