Daily News Roundup - 2008

Regarding the overtime. The reason for the overtime is simple. Vacanies must be filled or there wont be a body there to cover the shift. DUH! Well sorry folks there won't be any deputies patrolling today because we dont want to fill the shifts. Everyone critizes the deputies but NO ONE steps up to do the job. They obviously can't hire enough people. For christs sakes who would want to be a deputy when the papers and supervisors always rip on them.
Also they weren't just handed the money. Overtime means working hours BEYOND your normal schedule. Those office boy bean counter supervisors have no clue but are so quick to condemn.
