OC/DC: WSJ Highlights OCWD's Groundwater Replenishment

The Wall Street Journal profiles several regional groundwater replenishment programs including a look at OC's program. The coverage is on the front page of the "personal journal" section and includes a prominent picture of Rep. Sanchez (D-Anaheim) referred to as only a "local official."
Nonetheless, the story is interesting and well written, and the coverage is very positive for the OCWD. Assemblyman Mike Duvall (R-Yorba Linda) has a nice quote about his position on the program, and the one "opponent" hurt her own credibility by revealing she even gives her pet Chihuahua bottled water. (You can't make this stuff up). I bet she also said replenished groundwater was "like, grody to the max," however it wasn't in the story.
A great piece, it's online here. (A subscription or registration may be required)

All water - even the bottled water her Chihuahua is drinking - is recycled. The Colorado River, which provides Southern California about half of its drinking water, gets 400 million gallons of purified sewage from cities to the east every day.
We already are drinking recycled water. That's the "dirty little secret" the water districts don't want you to know.
The Groundwater Replenishment System strips everything out of the water except H20. It's the most pure water available and we're lucky to have it.
