Neil's Real Deal Vol 2: No Show Neil Talks About a Non-Issue
Posted by: Nick Naylor | 05/09/2008 4:19 PM
In the eight years he has served on Council, Neil Blais has missed over a year and a half of meetings. In the three years he has served on the Fire Authority board, he has missed a year of meetings.
That's why his colleagues call him "No-Show Neil".
After all of those absences, in the midst of an issue based campaign, Blais believes his best source of traction with voters is trying to dredge up an issue on his opponent.
The facts are clear though.
Jeff Miller and the entire Corona City Council called for an investigation into the City's actions related to the electricity crisis in 2001. That investigation was conducted by three different agencies. All of the investigations cleared Miller and the City.
Period.
According to the judge that reviewed the investigation there are no city communications to release. So while Neil refuses to show up for work, and refuses to level with voters about his own record, and faxes ad nauseum with distortions that Jubal terms "sleazy", he just can't hide from the record...
And for the record, the Riverside Press Enterprise which Blais hides behind just endorsed Jeff Miller.

Boy, Neil sure does seem to milk off government. Perhaps he is still a Democrat at heart.
So Nick, which of Neil's "colleagues" have dubbed him no show Neil? Care to name names or are you just spewing your usual bull hockey.
Jeff Miller missed just as many meetings. But who cares? Name one city councilmember in any city that has been around for as long as both have been on a city council that hasn't missed some meetings.
And by the way, Miller and his A team can't seem to get their facts straight anyway. According to Miller's "list", one of those meetings that Neil supposedly missed was 10 months before RSM was even a city! People i know that saw that just laughed and commented how what a bunch of amatuers or fools Miller has running his campaign.
Gary --
As you may remember, the City of RSM required incorporation meetings. The meeting you are citing was not ten months before the incorporation it was one of the two incorporation meetings Neil missed.
Nice try at comparing the two candidates, but just as with your work in Wildomar and on this campaign, you have no facts to back up your point.
What incorporation meetings? The only meetings that took place when Neil was a councilman was after the November 1999 cityhood election which was a long time after February 1999.
Nice try at spinning it the other way but clearly you blew it and you look like the fools and amateurs that you are. All of Orange County is getting a pretty good laugh at how stupid Miller really looks.
The mailer clearly shows that Neil missed a meeting on "February 17, 1999". The election for incorporation and the first city council was not held until November 2, 1999. No incorporation meetings took place until after November 2, 1999.
Maybe Jeff should go back into the utility business.
The only council member with a worse attendance record was Councilman Karl Rove. We will deal with that in two years.
I head that Councilman Karl Rove also had the most number of city paid travel junkets too. You learn alot about a city council when one of its members runs for office and you can get a good oppo job done on the whole bunch. Thanks Neil because of you there is alot of good information to use when you and the gang run for re-election in 2010.
