CUSD Recall Candidate Ken Maddox Receives Wide Breadth of Support
(Aliso Viejo)- Today, Ken Maddox announced the support of the two Senators who represent the Capistrano Unified School District, Dick Ackerman and Mark Wyland.
Ackerman, a long time advocate of reforming the Capistrano Unified School District said of Maddox, "I served with Ken in the legislature, and his work ethic combined with his strong grasp of the issues will serve the students and parents of the Capistrano Unified School District well."
Ackerman, who was first elected to the Assembly in 1994, and then Senator in 2000, also served as the Senate Minority Leader from 2004-2008. Wyland was elected to the Senates 38th District in 2006, which includes the cities of San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente.
Ken Maddox said, "I am proud to have the endorsement of these two fine representatives. The CUSD is known for their out of control spending habits. I pledge to cut waste and make sure that every expenditure is going towards educating our children."
Maddox, a former police officer, Councilman, and State Assemblyman, is known around the County as a reformer, leader and as Columnist Dan Weintraub once called him, a "Maverick".

Jubal-
Just curious... who was the contact info on the Maddox release?
Wyland is Vice-Chair of the Senate Education Committee. His endorsement should carry a lot of weight. Our district needs someone with experience like Maddox on the Board.
Way to go Ken! His experience and background in the Assembly makes him a "much needed" addition to the board. Plus, he is a really nice man. That counts for a lot in my book.
