Hoa's Hinky Campaign Report Countdown: Day 15

It had been my hope our countdown campaign would be sufficient to prod this would-be county supervisor into complying with county campaign disclosure laws.
So far, that hope has been misplaced.
Perhaps that paragon of virtue Edgardo Reynoso is advising Hoa to keep his head down, bull forward and it will all blow over. Whatever the case may be, the countdown will continue, but we'll have to look into additional incentives to comply with the law.
For a candidate who pledges to "fight to reduce crime," Hoa certainly has a tought time obeying the law himself. Frankly, it shouldn't be this difficult to get a candidate to disclose expenditures he is legally obligated to disclose. This reluctance in and of itself raises questions as to what else Hoa may not be reporting.
For example, according to several different sources, Hoa has been running TV ads on the Saigon Broadcasting Television Network several times a day, non-stop since the end of March. By happy coincidence, SBTN is partly-owned by Phu Do Nguyen, who is also Hoa's boss, his campaign HQ landlord, his campaign treasurer, and major campaign contributor.
By even a conservative estimate of three ads per day since April, that means Hoa has spent in the neighborhood of $27,000 in broadcast ads on SBTN to date.
It'll be interesting to see what's on that May 22 report -- or perhaps, what's not on the report.
