Hoa's Amended Report Tells A Tale
Posted by: Jubal | 05/20/2008 6:49 AM
I've flipped through the amended Hoa Van Tran campaign report, but the first thing that jumps out is they omitted the vast majority of total expenditures in the original report.
The original report listed $3884.10 in total expenditures.
The amended report lists $21,146.66.
That's a difference of $17,262.56.
How does anyone omit nearly 82% of their expenditures by accident?
One of the missing expenditures was a $3,000 payment to campaign manager Edgardo Reynoso, who throughout the episode would never admit the campaign report had more holes than a slice Swiss cheese.
Does Edgardo expect us to believe he didn't know his salary hadn't been reported?
More later...

Not to mention the fact that the report looks like it was faxed, which technically means that it was not filed...as I believe campaign reports have to have original signatures.
Isn't Hoa Van Tran a lawyer?
Where is Senator Correa in all of this?
After all, it is his brother in law, Reynoso, who is behind the shady filing statements and hiring of "alleged" gang bangers. I ask any Red County reader, Rep or Dem: if it were your brother in law, what would you do? I haven't heard Correa say one thing about all of this. We've got probable willful violation of county and state election laws and campaign workers shooting people and landing in jail.
On top of that, somewhere it said that Sen. Correa's own son is pictured in one of the photos with the Krazy Proud Criminals. Again, to the readers: if that were your kid and your brother in law, what would you do?
Step it up and do something, Senator! How can you claim to care about the well being of our community when you don't seem to care about your crazy brother in law hiring these folks and possibly involving your kid in this nonsense?
Flowerzzz -- you can fax it to meet a deadline but you have to follow up with an original.
so in otherwords it is not officially filed yet - technically speaking
It takes time you know.
40 days to disclose 82% of your expenditures.
2% each day.
Proof that filling out a form is not as easy as you'd think.
Yes, Hoa Van Tran served with the law office of Do Phu and Anh Tuan. You can find him giving commentary with Tuong Thang (Youtube) on issues relating to Viet Nam and imprisoned Vietnamese Americans.
Why in the world would Senator Correa want to be affiliated with this train wreck? Can you imagine him actually running the First Dist? Whats next with this guy...?
Maybe Hoa's accountant is a cholo.
Just imagine if a white person had said that Pedroza. You would be screaming how racist they are. What a hypocrite.
Is "Urban Latino Youth" a better term to use? Personally, I think the term "Urban Latino Youth" is a "mentally challenged" term to use. By the way Art only said maybe his accountant was a cholo. And for the record has anyone met a cholo that was proficient at mathematics?
I think Hoa's problems were caused by a decimal in the wrong place, rounding error, or software bug.
But seriously, it is no surprise to see a Correa connection. Rather than spending our resources on a Walters-Sidhu battle in SD 33, we should be finding a suitable candidate to replace Correa with in SD 34.
And the Register always seemed to treat him with kid gloves...
