Hoa Van Tran Campaign Workers In Jail

Peggy Lowe and Tony Saavreda have a story up on OC Register.com regarding to the arrest of two Hoa Van Tran campaign workers:
Needless to say, this is an ironic turn of events given that Hoa is campaigning, in part, on "prevent[ing] gangs from taking over the neighborhoods." Maybe his plan was to concentrate them all in his campaign.
OC Blog first revealed the presence of KPC members in the Hoa Van Tran campaign in an April 21 post.
Lowe and Saavreda related former Hoa political director Misha Houser's experiences with these fine young men on the hinky Hoa campaign. It mirrors what Misha told me while writing my April 21 post. Unfortunately, Misha didn't want to go on the record at the time, and my sporadic efforts to chase down the arrest were confined to Santa Ana (not Orange, where, as it turns out, the shooting occurred). One advantage full-time reporters have over part-time bloggers!
While Hoa may have solved one problem by finally amending his hole-riddled campaign disclosure report, this much bigger can of worms will give DPOC members food for thought when they meet tonight.
Two campaign workers for Democratic supervisorial candidate Hoa Van Tran are in Orange County Jail in connection with a shooting that occurred just hours after a Tran fundraiser in April. These are the "urban Latino youth" that LiberalOC.com blogger Sean Mill referred to, taking exception to any attempts to identify them as gang members.
Tran campaign staffers Jorge Valle,18, and Cesar "Youngster" Valle,19, both reputed members of the Krazy Proud Criminal gang, were arrested April 9 on charges of attempted murder and accessory after the fact, respectively. Jorge Valle is being held without bail, while Cesar Valle is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail. Police did not say if the two men are related.

Amazing!!!
Jubal:
Does it bug you at all that you and Chris Prevatt do the work, dig and push the Hoa story, and then the Register swoops in, writes it up and gives you guys no credit?
I wonder if Hoa and Reynoso are far behind these little hooligans?
Next Register story will be about the brother of one of the candidates and the serious criminal charges he is facing.
