Ann Coulter at UCI TONIGHT
Posted by: Lady Fingers | 05/22/2008 8:26 AM
While I cannot even find Ann Coulter's scheduled appearance at UCI on the UCI Web Home Page, the "event calendar" or even a note about it; I saw on the "Campus Watch" that there is an advertisement showing that she will be at UCI tonight. It is a FREE evening lecture on "Why Liberals are Wrong About Everything". She will be appearing in the UCI Student Center Pacific Ballrooms C&D. There is a parking structure on the corner of Campus Dr. and West Peltason across the street from the Student Center, a nicely marked crosswalk to the Student Center and you can find signs on the inside which SHOULD (hopefully) list her appearance with directions to the ballrooms. If not, you can find a floorplan of the student center on the UCI website and it will tell you how to get there. Doors open at 6:30 PM event begins at 7 PM. Sponsored by the College Republicans and the Young Americans. For more information you can contact: crucirvine@gmail.com
A full page ad is also found in The New University, May 19, 2008.

Great. So UCI has another speaker who has advocates :
(1) using violence to force people to change their religion ( "invade their [terrorists'] countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity."),
(2) violent attacks on democratically elected officials ("the only question is to impeach or assassinate"), amd
(3) destroying Jewry ("we just want Jews to be perfected")
I look forward to Jonathan Constantine's impassioned organization of a protest to expose this threat to our American way of life that glibly hides behind "free speech" and powerful patrons.
Oh c'mon tyler. Nobody takes this female seriously. And the attempt at glamour produces a very creepy effect.
Someone needs to call meals on wheels and give her some food to eat tonight.
Allan, Red:
I love ya'll. "call her Meals on Wheels." great line.
p.s. Allan: I apologize for comparing you to a "Pedroza-bot" in the signs thread. Better luck with the next round of signs.
Thanks Tyler. That cut deep comparing me to Pedroza, LOL.
I am glad you liberals were able to find this website as a healthy medium to voice your concerns with the petite-ness of the wonderful Ann Coulter. Although I wouldn't waste my energy calling a beautiful woman anything other than beautiful.
We enjoyed the speech. My significant other and I attended the speech and I must say that Ann was eloquent, polite, generous in her responses and most importantly, correct. And while I will not go to democratic rallies to annoy, perturb and berate the speaker and audience, for some reason the 2 freshmen gentlemen next to me decided differently. At the beginning of the speech they would not stop clapping after the mention of B. Hussein Obama and towards the closure of the speech they continued to repeat "I feel like I’m on the short bus" and "man, she’s so retarded. I can't f***ing believe this." And frankly I couldn't agree with them more: I felt very much like I was sitting next to 2 mentally challenge individuals with a very limited and vulgar vocabulary. But then again, what was I to expect from these liberals?
Also, to those that went to the rally but were not actually listening: Ann did not that say we should Nuke Iran, she said that the only way the B. Hussein Obama "Talks" will work is only after we Nuke Iran. In which case then she would be in support of the talks, not the Nukes. (Note to liberals: Open your ears before you open your hearts.)

Tyler, Allan, and RP are liberals? Brrrt! Wrong answer. But thanks for playing, newbie.
I didn't go see Coulter because I decided to have my teeth worked on instead.
Christopher,
How does advocating large scale warfare, endorsing assassination as a political tool, and openly proselytizing for the elimination of the Jewish faith count as "petite-ness"? You really lost me on theat one.
The list of people who have tired of Ms. Coulter and her botox-embalmed bombastics spans the political spectrum -- including Jonah Goldberg.
p.s. Each of the 2 1/3 remaining contenders
for the White House is associated with a widely-known proper noun. What's with appending "strong" to one of their names?
Hell has frozen over. I was called a liberal. I don't care who you are, but that's funny.
I went to the event with Ann Coulter last evening. It was as I expected. I sat next to two students who were "assigned" to be there by their professor because they will have questions on their finals about this. (Political Science of course.) Ann was funny and I guess some of the audience didn't know their speaker, because she does a lot of black humor, it is just her style. Some of it she probably means. I'm not sure she means all of it. But the more "liberal" students seemed to experience some "angst" and tried bravely to engage Ann in argument (poor kids, they should have known better). Ann was polite, but direct and the audience enjoyed (with much laughter) some of the students questions because they were so "not up to the task" if you know what I mean.
What I was profoundly impressed by was that UCI had let Ann Coulter in it's hallowed liberal halls to even speak! This was a real plus for UCI. They are a "liberal bastion" in the heart of one of the most conservative counties in the country and they have protected the liberal and off the wall MSU speakers "right to speak" with careful consideration. I think in previous years I have only heard that William F.Buckley had appeared on campus once.
The UCI is anticipating a capital campaign to raise $25 million for expansions (they have lots of land donated by the Irvine family years ago). If they intend to get any $ from Orange County they need to open their doors to welcome their local constituents, most of whom, outside UCI, are conservative. Perhaps they have opened the door. Although I am sure they picked Ann Coulter because of her style to perhaps draw an analogy that "conservatives are so harsh"...LOL
I was the student who asked the question about the root causes of Islamic terrorism. For those of you who weren't in attendance and missed Ann Coulter completely dodge my question, I'd still like to hear an answer from the so-called "right" side...
"What is the root cause of Islamic Terrorism?"
"Have you heard of the concept of Islamic Blowback, and do you think that the presence of American troops throughout the Middle East and/or the United States' support of repressive regimes like Saudi Arabia and Egypt contributes to this phenomenon?"
Miss Coulter's replied, "Uhhh no, no, and no." And then she laughed. I wasn't aware that I had told a joke.
Its clear to see why people thought they were on the short-bus and why they thought Ann Coulter was a f**king retarded b*tch
Mark Cole: Wow, for a UCI Student to so unprofessionally present themselves to the "righter wing side" only reinforces the opinion that you really didn't want to hear the answer from the "right side" anyway...your mind is made up Mark. What is it you want? a fight? My opinion which I'm sure you will feel free to rip apart is that the cause of Islamic Terrorism is in the root of their Koran (hopefully I spelled that right and won't get on a hit list for disrespecting the Holy Book of Islam) and rests in the idealism of the Jihad.
If the Muslim religion were as peace loving as is so often extolled, then we wouldn't have had the twin towers in New York leveled and lost 3,000 lives.
Blowback, as you put it as a "phenomenom" ... well, refer to the paragraph above.
There are terrorists in the middle east who believe Allah wants them to do what they are doing. If we did not try to stop them then don't you think that the terrorists would overrun the world, we would all be forced into a religion in which we are not believers and then it would be a one world domination, one world religion? How do you justify that?
