This just came over the transom from the Jeff Miller for Assembly campaign:Miller Picks Up Another OC Endorsement
Costa Mesa Mayor Pro Tem Allan Mansoor Cites Stand on Illegal Immigration as he Backs Mayor Jeff Miller
Mission Viejo, CA -- The Miller for Assembly campaign picked up another Orange County local elected official endorsement when Costa Mesa Mayor Pro Tem Allan Mansoor endorsed Conservative Republican Jeff Miller for the 71st Assembly District.
"Jeff feels, as I do, that illegal immigration is the top challenge for our cities and our state," said Mayor Pro Tem Allan Mansoor. "Miller's experience and commitment make him the stand-out leader on illegal immigration for California."
"I am gratified for the support of Allan Mansoor," said Mayor Jeff Miller. "We agree that cities cannot turn a blind eye to the impact of illegal immigration and because of my experience fighting those impacts, I have been overwhelmingly endorsed by the leaders on this issue."
Mayor Pro Tem Mansoor joins Californians Against Illegal Immigration; U.S. Representative Ed Royce; retired Senator Dick Mountjoy, author of Prop 187; Andy Ramirez, President of the Friends of the Border Police; and retired Senator Ray Haynes, author of the Border Police Initiative in backing Jeff Miller for the Republican nomination in the 71st Assembly District.
"Whether it is barring our Party from ever considering amnesty again, deporting criminal illegals, or backing the border police, I have been helping lead the fight against illegal immigrants for the last eight years," concluded Miller. "While others were waiting in line to help bureaucrats shovel our tax dollars to illegal immigrants, I was out fighting to help stop this desperate challenge to our state's future."

Good endorsement, expecially in light of the Blais job controversy. Mansoor has anti-illegal immigration credentials, even though he is out of the district.
Blais has Sheriff Mike Carona Game Set Match
It doesn't surprise me that Mansoor supports Miller. He's using the same tactics Mansoor did two years ago when he ran for re-election - sending mailers that contain blatantly false information about his opponents.
You know, it's too bad that the predictions on this blog aren't traded on intrade. (I love it when I see predictions like "game, set, match".) But, I don't think that Intrade would be a good predictor for local races because (unlike Presidential races or American Idol) the market is too narrow and illiquid (not a broad market that offers the liquidity that would narrow bid-ask spreads and make the market a better predictor).
The sad fact of the matter is that most voters pay little attention to this stuff. (Mansoor? Who cares? Carona? Probably before the indictment.) I mean, ordinary people throw political mail in the recycle bin, saying "Yeah, yeah, yeah")
While I really like the Red County blog for the information available on it (very much appreciated), I am grateful that most people don't see a lot of the very offensive comments on that, I think, reflect poorly on the GOP. (And I am grateful that Jubal and others put the time and attention into providing timely information.)
