AD60 Mailbox: Larry Dick Comes To Life

The AD60 GOP primary is between MWDOC Director Larry Dick and Chino Hills Mayor Curt Hagman.Hagman has had the mailbox to himself with a couple of pieces (and an IE), but the Larry Dick for Assembly campaign has lately jumped to life in terms of its mail campaign.
On Friday the post man delivered this mailer from Larry's campaign, which was basically the walk piece that was dropped at Casa de Jubal a week or so ago:
That was followed today with a second mailer touting Larry's Orange County-credentials and his endorsement by Cong. Ed Royce. I'll post it soon.
I also received a letter from the Hagman campaign, that begins "The liberals who control the legislature have pushed California billions into debt -- once again."
Yeah -- and its the public safety unions who have been helping with the pushing. And it's those unions funding independent expenditures for Hagman.
Larry's campaign is also taking issue with a claim made in a previous Hagman mailer:
A letter sent out on Orange County Cops union letterhead contained an outrageous claim that that deserves a second look.
The claim made in the letter states, "As Mayor, Curt doubled law enforcement staffing- without ever raising taxes."
Really? Let's look at the time line of Mr. Hagman's public service.
Hagman was selected by his fellow city council members to be Mayor from December 1, 2007 until November 30, 2008 so his time as Mayor will be for about six months. Moreover, during that time the City of Chino Hills is operating under a budget that was adopted last July - months before Curt took his turn as Mayor.
It's clear the time line precludes "Mayor Hagman" from "doubled" law enforcement staffing. So during election time, we hope the voters ask which Curt Hagman is running.
