A Rum Recommendation

It's time for another exception.
I'm a rum guy. I'm not an aficianado or an expert. I just really like the stuff.
Last week I came across a brand I had never seen before, at a liquor mart in Vallyermo, of all places: Sailor Jerry's Spiced Navy Rum.
According to the label, it's the special recipe of -- you guessed it -- Sailor Jerry Collins, "the most famous tattoo artist of all time."
I'd never heard of him before, but this little nugget of information on the bottle caught my eye:
92 proof.I'd never come across a rum of that potency. Myer's, Mount Gay, Bacardi, Captain Morgan, Havana Club, etc. - they're all in the 70-80 proof range.
But despite its strength, Sailor Jerry is very smooth -- even taken straight.
So all you rum drinkers amongst the universe of OC blog readers: pick up a bottle of Sailor Jerry's if you have a chance and give it a try. You won't regret it.

Jubal ~ Did/do you like the Abbey? In all of southern California it's one of the most serene places to which I've ever been. Hey, I guess that means Nobody likes it there. (bad, bad pun.)
MN:
The Abbey was wonderful. It was my first time there, but definitely won't be my last.
Rum and Romanism: two outta three ain't bad!
