1st Supe District Watch: URL Banditry Strikes Again!

Posted by: Jubal | 05/16/2008 9:31 AM

Two weeks ago,  the Dina Nguyen for Supervisor campaign URL was misspelled in a mail piece, and some quick-thinking mischief-makers registered the URL and linked it to a Asian gay porn site.

So, what are the odds of that happening again, let alone in the 1st Supervisor District race.

Apparently, they're excellent.

Check out Chris Prevatt's post on TheLiberalOC.com and read about how Hoa Van tran made the same mistake and suffered the same consequences (this time the link is to a gay Cholo porn site)

Can this race get any weirder?

Is Janet behind this, again?

I didn't know Janet could be responsible for her opponents not spell checking their mailers...

Janet is sooooo over the line on this one said:

Who else would be spell checking website addresses in the 1st Sup. race and then care enough to buy the site and link it to something negative.

Janet is sooooo over the line on this one. If she is not directly behind it, she should find out who on her staff is doing it and fire them immediately.

At least denounce this outrageous behavior.

Boy, the OC GOP must be proud of their endorsement and her linking her opponents to pornography sites.

Obviously, this actions benefits Janet.

Given this if she knew about the 1st time this happened but not the second time this happened would she have to report this as some sort of in-kind contribution.

That is the purchase of an adult website for the sole purpose of creating embarrasment to her opponent would be a reportable expense.

Janet's camp needs to stop making political links "unfriendly" to our children. It's dirty, nasty and ......unjustifiable perversion!

I can see that the 5 first comments on here are dynamically related. They are all Hoa/Dina supporters. In order to blame this one Janet you have to completely ignore some rather relevant facts.
1) Janet does not proofread the final mailers before printing.
2) You have to ignore all boundaries of law to accuse Janet of something before you have any relevant FACTS
3) You have to have personal bias (like that doesn't run wild on this website lol) against Janet to say what you have said, therefore it negates any credibility your statements might have
4) To falsely accuse Janet of having anything to do with this is just more mudslinging like letters from Paul Lucas being distributed at the central committe meeting, like endorsing the opponents of current republican office holders, etc. etc.
5) The most important relevant fact is that when you do this each day the rest of the republicans that read this site think of you as small-minded, childish and any credibility that you may have had is lost.

Get over the "Janet is behind it" syndrome. I'm sure she has more important things to do that sit up reading mailers from her competition and buying up porn sites to link them to. For God's sake you people need to get a life.

I think that CRA Republican is right. Don't link to porno sites. (You can steal the URL and link to your site.)

Who Else Has Motivation To Do It? said:

Who else has motivation to do it, if it is not coming from Janet's camp?

Whether Janet gave a Democrat negative information on a sitting Republican or whether or not our current republican office holders mind endorsing a Supervisor mired in corruption, pork spending and fee increases is besides the point here.

Everyone assumes that in a race with 3 people, when two of them have their websites bought and linked to smut, that it is their opponent doing it.

It is time for Janet to denounce the move and let everyone know that she had nothing to do with it. It is the only decent thing to do.

If the Dina & Hoa campaigns (and their supporters) can't get a properly edited mailer out the door and then blame Janet for their own ineptitude what does it say about the candidates themselves?

Dina, Hoa: rein in your vicious dogs, hire competent staff and let’s see some professionalism from your campaign. If you can't do that, quit the race.

Hey guys, I jut wanted to let everyone know ITS NOT JANET, it's me. I felt used and betraied by Mike and Dina so I'm trying to undermine them. I hope you guys all thought this was as funny as I did.

Paul, you are not that creative.

Actually, I doubt if Paul wrote this post, however, given the quality of the spelling, perhaps the individual claiming to be Paul Lucas edited the two mailers.

Anon., Arturo, your Janet's "losers associates" have never made a ONE single comment denouncing this perversion act(s) so far.......

Anonymous said:

Arturo says Janet didn't do it. I say Janet didn't do it. I doubt if I were her I would dignify the accusation with any response to the low life scum suckers who are doing this and then trying to blame her.
