1st Supe District Watch: Hoa Van Tran Targetting Seniors

Posted by: Tomahawk | 05/24/2008 8:03 PM

Thumbnail image for mailbox.jpgThis mailer arrived yesterday to voters in Garden Grove and Santa Ana, but today for those registered in Westminster.  Just another typical piece from the Hoa Van Tran campaign.

Not sure how he is able to mail so much with the little cash on hand that his report is showing.  By my count, Hoa has sent out a few more mailers than Dina Nguyen, his main rival for the number 2 slot.

Note to Hoa: get new pictures, these are getting old.

I wounder if that fact that his campaign staff are gang thugs might make seniors think twice about the kind of "leadership" that he would provide -if he were by some mistake elected to the BOS.

I was meaning to inquire into Hoa Van Tran’s campaign technique, which he utilized gang and thug as a promotional feat. However, what kind of image is he trying to send to the voter? Gang sign is not a countenance to this or any irenic community. What ever he is attempting to do with the gang symbol, it may backfire and plunge his campaign.

One can only hope! 8-)

I was just wondering if he might put those pictures from his web page on a mailer, it might get the gangsters out to vote for him LOL. That is if they are out of jail and able to vote.

Where is Dina? If even Hoa Van Tran is going to outmail Dina, how serious of a candidate is Dina?

Anonymous said:

Dina is waiting till the last minute so you will get her mailers on Saturday and Monday before the election....it's a tactic often used by the underdog, and by consultants.

But when reading those mailers on Saturday and Monday before the election, remember that Dina had only been a member of the California Republican Assembly for four months before she asked for their endorsement. Remember that she has very little, and all of it recent, community service. Remember that she does not have an undergraduate or graduate degree; and she has a law degree from an unacredited "law school". But her one and only greatest asset is Van Tran who is pushing her, helping fund her, directing his "operatives" to help her fill out her candidate papers and hire consultants to run her campaign. And where does her income come from? Remember that her step-brother (?) needed to be bailed out of jail for a major drug charge, and she let her parents put up the $150,000 against their house to bail him out. If she has such a great income that she can loan herself $25,000 for her campaign where is it coming from?

I don't think she is a very good candidate.

Waiting until the last minute has not been a tactic that has served Dina well. Remember her problem with that Form 700?

Dina is so dumb, that according to her quote in the OC Register today, she thinks the Board of Supervisors can put an election for Sheriff on the November ballot.

Just about everyone except Dina seems to know that state law doesn't allow the Board of Supervisors to do that.

Dina knows full well that state law doesn't allow the Board of Supervisors to place an election for Sheriff on the November ballot.

Her quote in the Register was intentionally deceptive. Shame on the Register for printing her quote and not questioning Dina's deliberate dishonesty.
